From the secret witchcraft of a small seaside town to a magically war-torn city, Otis takes us from our world and into another in this conclusion to the Divine Witches duology. The crystal-centric magic system is taken to a wider urban scope here and I think it shines all the more for it. I really enjoyed the further development of the relationships in this book, and the complexity of the character growth while Meg and the group aid the citizens

I'm a huge fan of the Maine Clambake Mystery series. Barbara Ross is masterful at capturing Maine life, and of weaving a mystery that always surprises me. Book 11 was a fun journey with the duo of Julia and her mother. I enjoyed getting into the intricacies of island life on Chipmunk Island, and the sort of Ya-Ya Sisterhood feel of the core group that lived there. The beginning was a little slow for me, but I never doubted it would ramp up later
