Suzie Quint has always been fascinated with the human psyche, so she can imagine no better way to explore the human condition than through the characters she writes. Finding the happy ending for the people who inhabit her worlds is the best job anyone could have. Getting to share them with others… It doesn't get any better than that. ...more

I'm closing in on the end of the first draft for a story (as yet untitled except in my mind as Cleo's story), but I've incorporated a mystery into the story and I'm letting things gel a bit. I think readers will like Alec and Cleo's story. Cleo is far from perfect--in fact one of critique buddies said that Cleo is a bit of a hot mess but that it works for her--but that just makes her that much more fun to write.

While that's going on in my subconscious, I'm working on White Knight, Ezra McKnight's story.(less)

The wait is over! Dive Babe is here!

I know. It’s been a while since I released anything new. Life happens. And it really happened in 2020. I could have done with a little less of that.

So back to the good news.

My new release Dive Babe is available for pre-order on Amazon.

If you’re not a kindle reader, don’t worry. It will be on the other major sites as well but, to the best of my knowledge, none of those sites have a pre-order progra Read more of this blog post »

There's several things I could pick at. Like the Irish girl I'm told has an Irish accent but talks like an American. (Except when she cleans her teeth which an American wouldn't say.)

The big thing though is the two break-ins at her home while she's s

This started out really strong because I love revenge stories, but it didn't hold up. I did a lot of skimming because there was too much explicit sex that didn't do anything for the story itself. (I'm not a fan of sex as a spectator sport.) It's a sh ...more

“Have you ever noticed that folks will say ‘Look, he has his mama’s eyes’ or ‘his daddy’s nose,’ but they never say ‘We’re so proud! Look! He’s hung just like grampa’?”
- Zach McKnight”
Suzie Quint, A Knight in Cowboy Boots

“Where did you get that assault weapon?"

"Assault weapon?" Zach turned his head to look at her. "Well, lookey there. You're cute when you blush."

Maddie's face grew hotter, but at least he'd mistaken the reason for her embarrassment.

Zach turned his face back toward the ceiling. "That there's standard equipment, darlin'."

"There's nothing standard about that."

"I didn't hear you complaining."

"Of course not. You sprang it on me when I was mentally incompetent."

Zach laughed out loud. "That you were, sweet Maddie that you were."

Maddie and Zach”
Suzie Quint, A Knight in Cowboy Boots

“Do you always play this hard to get?"

"I wish I could afford to play hard to get. You women have wised up a lot in the last decade or so. None of my old lines work anymore."

"You mean 'wanna get naked' doesn't have women falling all over you?"

Mac peered at her over the top of the menu.

"Hey, that's my best one."

"I'd hate to hear your worst."

Yeah, you would. He set the menu down and leaned in as though about to say something confidential. "I crash and burn a lot."

Mac and Rachel.”

“It (a singer's voice) sounds as if it was aged in a whiskey cask, cured in an Ozarks smokehouse, dropped down a stone well, pulled out damp, and kept moist in the palm of a wicked woman's hand.”
Michael Perry

“Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.”
G.K. Chesterton

“It’s amazing how much panic one honest man can spread among a multitude of hypocrites. ”

Suzie Quint That's part of why I chose my publisher. They do fantastic covers. I have new one coming out in November and I can't wait to see the cover. Somehow the cover makes it "real."

Looking forward to your recommendations, too.
