I couldn’t put this one down. Twists and turns kept me glued to the page. I enjoyed the diverse characters even more than the plot, although the political candidate Carp comes off as a stereotype. The plot gets a bit complicated toward the end, and I ...more

The author’s latest novel can be taken as a study of the harsh realities that women, people of color, and gay people had to endure in Hollywood of the 1950s. It can also be taken as a study of how society objectifies beautiful women. Or, it can be st ...more

This is a YA book. I found it interesting and liked the well-drawn characters. The story is a slow read, though. I kept waiting for a climactic moment to happen, but when it does, well, it doesn’t exactly deliver the wow I expected.
