Dahrose | 67 comments I'm talking about the little known gems that you've accidentally stumbled across, taken a chance and been blown away by.
So no block-busters or machine driven PR hogs/best sellers.
I want to hear about new authors/or just starting to get some traction authors that are your newest faves.

Personally, I'm loving the Jane Cousins - Southern Sanctuary Series. They are the whole package; sweet, steamy and with lots of laughs
To Woo A Warrior (Southern Sanctuary, #1) by Jane Cousins To Trap A Temptress (Southern Sanctuary, #2) by Jane Cousins To Wrangle A Witch (Southern Sanctuary, #3) by Jane Cousins To Seduce A Siren (Southern Sanctuary, #4) by Jane Cousins To Bedevil A Beauty (Southern Sanctuary, #5) by Jane Cousins

Likewise I think Isabel Jordan does an excellent job with Semi-Charmed Semi-Charmed by Isabel Jordan

An another author who is certainly deserving of more attention is Kate Locke and her Immortal Empire Series
God Save the Queen (The Immortal Empire, #1) by Kate Locke The Queen Is Dead (The Immortal Empire, #2) by Kate Locke Long Live the Queen (The Immortal Empire, #3) by Kate Locke

Kellibean00 | 5 comments Hey!

Anyone read

Geneva Lee? I loved her royal sage read it all in one sitting.
M. Lauryl Lewis has a zombie apocalypse story. Very graphic and the author really paints a picture with her words.
S. M. Reine. Awesome. She has a few stories but they exist in the same world. She weaves them together pretty well.

message 3: by Veronica (new)

Veronica Rosa (veronicadelrosa) I've added several indie authors to my buy list.

Heather R. Blair of the Phoenix Inc series - Phoenix Rising, Phoenix Fallen and soon Phoenix Broken.

Jen Winters of the Guardians series Kissing the Rain and Kissing Demons

Rachel Chanticleer of the Cresent City Arcana series The Hunter and the Witch

Kimiko Alexandre for Guardians: Awakened

I'm sure there are a few more, but these are the ones I've read recently and quite enjoyed their novels.

message 4: by Diana (new)

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) I really like the Royal Saga by Geneva Lee, too. I haven't read Crown me, yet.
Conquer Me (Royals Saga, #2) by Geneva Lee Command Me (Royals Saga, #1) by Geneva Lee Crown Me (Royals Saga, #3) by Geneva Lee

I just finished Bear my Soul by T.S. Joyce and it was great. It was related to the Saw Bears books. They have a lot of humor. The new Fire Bears series is starting out more seriously.

Sawman Werebear (Saw Bears, #4) by T.S. Joyce Timberman Werebear (Saw Bears, #3) by T.S. Joyce Woodcutter Werebear (Saw Bears #2) by T.S. Joyce Lumberjack Werebear (Saw Bears, #1) by T.S. Joyce

and Bear My Soul (Fire Bears Book 1) by T.S. Joyce

Dino-Jess ✮ The Book Eating Dinosaur ✮ (deliah_wilson) My new favs this year have been Sacrificed (The Last Oracle, #1) by Emily Wibberley (YA paranormal) and The Wicked City (Siren Song, #1) by Megan Morgan (urban fantasy)!

Great writing in both.

I'm keen to pick up some of the recommendations in this thread already, thanks for the ideas!

message 8: by Nevada (new)

Nevada (vadatastic) | 53 comments I would add S.M. Boyce and her books Grimoire Saga Complete Box Set. They have a little romance, but it's certainly not the focus, definitely more fantasy than anything. She has some beautiful descriptions, especially the rose cliffs.

I am currently reading The Short Life of Sparrows and am finding it to be unique. Granted, I'm not big time into witches, so I may be mistaken, but I like the relationship dynamics in it so far. It's refreshing to me.

message 9: by Kellie (new)

Kellie (track_star24) | 22 comments I've become addicted to quite a few new authors to me that I gladly will hype right now. Warrior series by Melanie P. Smith, Mountain Wild Bears by Anya Nowlan, Guardians of Scotland series by Victoria Zak, Wolfpack Delta series by Ruelle Channing and Cam Cassidy, The Community series by Tracy Tappan and La Patron series by Sydney Addae.

Loved them all and constantly check for new books from each author.

The series used to be talked about all the time, so it's not underrated. It's just not mentioned as much anymore because it's been years since the last book. Heard the author's publisher dropped her. She said she may selfpublish the next book - however, it's been so long now it's not looking good.

message 15: by Diana (new)

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) If you like short, hot shifter stories (and witches), I found an author that is new to me is releasing some great ones.

message 28: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Wheeler | 386 comments Eileen Wilks. She right a lupis series, with a lot of magical and human characters. Very enjoyable.

message 29: by Dahrose (new)

Dahrose | 67 comments Also want to highlight several male authors that I believe are deserving of more attention.

The Rook (The Checquy Files, #1) by Daniel O'Malley The Rook by Daniel O'Malley was excellent, with a female protagonist, fantastic world building and a fresh take on urban fantasy. Book 2 must be due out soon.

And the Nightside series by Simon R Green - Amazingly inventive characters set in a fascinating world just adjacent to our own but completely unique. Where Gods are real, and vengeful, the dead have to be locked up, in case they don't stay dead and the righteous are just as deadly as the evil.
There are ten or so more books in the series, and you do need to read them in order to get the most out of the series.
Something from the Nightside (Nightside, #1) by Simon R. Green Agents of Light and Darkness (Nightside, #2) by Simon R. Green Nightingale's Lament (Nightside, #3) by Simon R. Green And many many more.

message 30: by MommaBear (new)

MommaBear I found this book and author on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised! The author, Aaron Speer, is an indie Australian author with a unique take on vampires. This is a first of a new series, but the ending doesn't pi$$ you off, just makes you definitely want more! The story includes romance, mystery, a believable universe centered in Australia, and characters you'll love as well as love to hate! I highly recommend giving this one a try!

Night Walker

Night Walker (Undeadly Secrets, #1) by Aaron L. Speer

message 31: by Dahrose (last edited Apr 15, 2016 03:24PM) (new)

Dahrose | 67 comments So many people have been raving about how good Alanea Alder's Bewitched and Bewildered series is. Am officially putting book 1 -
My Commander (Bewitched and Bewildered, #1) by Alanea Alder - My Commander, at the top of my to-read list.

Keep the under the radar authors and tips coming.

Sounds like a lot of fun

message 33: by Katie (new)

message 35: by EmmaMay (new)

EmmaMay | 36 comments Thank you so much - I stumbled across this thread the first day I joined. Consider me an official member of the Jane Cousins fan club.
The series was so much fun. The romances were both sexy and sweet. Heaps of action, gorgeous Heroes, strong sassy Heroines. And lots and lots of witty dialogue and laughs.

It pays to read the series in order - because of all the in jokes and secondary characters.

Jane Cousins is my new fave author - bar none.

To Woo A Warrior (Southern Sanctuary, #1) by Jane Cousins To Trap A Temptress (Southern Sanctuary, #2) by Jane Cousins To Wrangle A Witch (Southern Sanctuary, #3) by Jane Cousins To Seduce A Siren (Southern Sanctuary, #4) by Jane Cousins To Bedevil A Beauty (Southern Sanctuary, #5) by Jane Cousins To Date A Disaster (Southern Sanctuary Book 6) by Jane Cousins To Shackle A Shrew (Southern Sanctuary, #7) by Jane Cousins To Thrill A Thief (Southern Sanctuary, #8) by Jane Cousins

It's so great to find a new author that you enjoy. I am especially glad I found out about this author because her books are different from any other I've read before. She has a unique perspective and a captivating talent.

message 40: by Dahrose (new)

Dahrose | 67 comments I want to add Kory Shrum to this list. Her book Dying for a Living (Jesse Sullivan #1) by Kory M. Shrum Dying for a Living - provides an intriguing world and premise. A unique heroine to root for. Plus a mystery to solve.

Don't be put off by the zombie reference - this is so not about craving blood or brains.
