I expected lots of wedding memories, children being born?

8/ The rapport I built up with my customers and co-workers over 20 years at my store. After being gone almost 10 years, many of them still say, "We miss you." when I run into them elsewhere.
9/ Watching my children graduate from college – including my daughter getting her PhD.

I agree with you. I can remember exactly what I was doing the day of the Challenger explosion and the loss of Columbia (even more vividly than 9/11). Like my mom can remember the day JFK died.

I will remember that too. I was home school sick that day and I was with my father. It was very rare that the two of us were alone together and he told me about when he was in school and hearing about JFK's assassination as well as MLK's
Yeah. I was at school. They called us all in from recess early so we could watch the launch and even the teachers looked like they'd just had the Berlin Wall dropped on their heads.

Seeing you Mum and Dad both having 90th birthdays is great.
Disney Land, all have great memories for me is different ways.
What's gonna stick longest in my memory is that I left a layer of thigh skin on a bench at Disneyland the same year the Challenger blew because it was damned close to 120+ Fahrenheit...in the shade that particular June day Mom and I were there.I had turned 8 just a week or so before the incident and then Grandma died, so two flights to St. Louis and back to California in the space of less than two months will tend to stick...along with anything traumatic that happened in between.

My wife were on the Monorail in Disney Park, Florida, when we saw a rocket take off. What a site it was.
Nice. Mom and I were at the ORIGINAL park.
I will never forget the birth of my children. I'm divorced now. But that memory is still foremost in my mind. Three boys and a girl. I see the boys, now young men, regularly. The girl lived only for 18 days.
Indeed, she had Down's syndrome and several diseases of the heart ....
Thanks. She wouldn't have had a fair chance in live. So it was good (more or less).

I was a young mother married to a man who didn't have a job. He was at home alone all day, while I worked as a high school English teacher. I was overworked and at the end of my rope. I asked him to wash the dishes while I gave our son a bath. I could tell he was angry and asked him why. He said, "Housework is women's work." I will remember that all my life as the moment when I decided to leave him. I was gone within a week.
i hope to remember this for the rest of my life. The first time i saw my baby boys face after birth, that was 14 yrs ago. What a gift that was to me.
The day i took my baby to swim under water in a moms group. He was 1 or 2 months old and i was terrified but the swim instructor pulled him quite deep under water in the pool and my god my baby swam right to me from quite a distance. it was amazing!

Some very powerful earthquakes.The earth just shook and shook and I felt very lucky to have survived.
Sean, this was a lovely idea. I will stick to good memories. I like those best. 1. Holding my firstborn a few moments after she arrived. This will always be the best memory of my life.
2. My kids’ laughter.
3. Skiing the Seventh Heaven run at Blackcomb/Whistler.
4. Early days, first boat, sailing on the Saint John River.
5. Waking up in some little cove on the Saint John in my boat and sitting on deck with a coffee as the mist rose off the water and the sun came over the hills.
6. Grooming my horses late in the evening.
7. Good books by great authors. Les Miserable by Victor Hugo was the best.
8. Living beside Lake Ontario and watching the sun come up every morning.
9. Laughing with good friends, especially my brother.
10. Walking in the deep woods with my Dad.

16/ Great memories of working in top hotels, meeting many celebrities, also working at a clothes shop in Jersey, Bob Monkhouse, Norman Wisdom, Larry Adler, Frank Bruno, Henry Cooper, Mollie Sugden, Harry Carpenter, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Sir Cliff Richard, Robin Asqwith, Reg Gutteridge many more.

18/Seeing my first Broadway show, Annie Get Your Gun, with Bernadette Peters, also saw Phantom Of The Opera.
19/Saving up to go with my In-laws for a holiday of a lifetime in 1981, seeing so many famous attractions for four weeks from LA, San Diego, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Yosemite Park, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, William Hearst home, San Luis Obispo, Venice Beach, San Francisco, there was so much to remember, all so different.

I hope I have more memories, sadly no children to have the great memories with to share, but my wife and I will treasure all those lovely memories.
Getting arrested for something I didn’t do. The accuser had a long history of mental illness.in fact she was hospitalized for that condition several times. I didn’t go to jail as charge was dismissed. But I had to pay court fine nevertheless.. Crazy

I am a Stephen King fanatic. He wrote Carrie (among other things) on a mid-60s green Olivetti portable typewriter that was a gift to his wife when she went to college. When we bought a larger house a couple of years ago and I had a huge room for my own personal library, I decided I was going to collect more things that went along with my book collection. I've always kept my eye open for one these typewriters, Not to use, but just to have and maybe display my Tabitha King collection near.A couple of nights ago I checked FB Marketplace and an ad popped up for one for $10.00. That didn't seem right because they are significantly more expensive since they are so well made and tend to still work. I immediately messaged asking if it was still available. It was, the guy said I was the first to respond, and if I could pick it up that evening, it was mine. I said yes, and my husband and I set off to get it.
As we were driving there, only about 15 minutes from our house, we passed a street sign "Castle Rock!" It was very odd that I had not known this street even existed.
We get there, I pay the man, and the typewriter is gorgeous! Once we put the typewriter in the car the man asked me what the deal was. He said that his phone had exploded with messages about the machine after I messaged him. I explained why I wanted it and what it meant to me. He was fascinated, and had no idea. We went on to talk about books for a pretty good while, I thanked him and off we went.
We stopped by the "Castle Rock" street sign and took a photo of me holding the typewriter under it. It was a surreal experience.
In 1987, while on a business trip in Europe and calling on our target markets who were interested in our eye-retinal biometrics technology for protecting their high-security facilities, I had the opportunity to meet Sean Connery in Monte Carlo. I, like many moviegoers, was a fan of the actor in his depiction of James Bond. We discussed the movie "Never Say Never Again," where the villain was a high-level CIA officer who allegedly duplicated the president of the USA's eye retina in order to neutralize cruise missiles for the big bad guy. I had the pleasure of informing him that the screenwriter was wrong. After my comment, we had a lengthy discussion on biometrics. He was a gentleman. I recently attended Comic Con is San Diego, I have loved Frank Miller since I was a teenager. I attended two panels at which he spoke, and for the second I had worked my way up to the third row. I was moved to tears a few times during the panel (he just looks so ill) and the woman with him on the panel waved me over when it was over. She said it touched her that I was so emotional and I got to talk to them for a few minutes. He was enthusiastic and lovely. Definitely a moment to remember.
I was a big fan of the original tv show Dark Shadows as a kid I would run home to watch it every afternoon. I found out online that they were having a 50th Anniversary Reunion in NY in Tarrytown where they had filmed some of the scenes for the movie "Nights of Dark Shadows" It was only a 3-4 hour drive from us so I got us tickets for the weekend and a room at the hotel where a lot of the events were being held. It was so much fun meeting the actors that I watched so long ago. David Selby kissed me on the cheek. One of the biggest thrills of my life.

Well, to just stick to the books/authors theme: I attended several Science Fiction Worldcons and during one of them Isaac Asimov was there to give a talk. And boy, that man could talk! After the talk I found myself with a group of fans just outside the large room where the talk was held, and Isaac was very kindly talking to us and autographing books. I didn't have a book with me... but he gave me a kiss on the cheek. I still have a picture of him and me together, me being the one with the very flushed look...
Isaac Asimov is my all time favorite SF author, and although I met many other (very) famous authors during my trips to Worldcons, this is what I remember best.

5. Christmas at sea! The sailors gave me a doctor kit and I was so thrilled.

9. Starting college! I was too excited! Graduating from college.

The birth of our 1st grandchild and being deathly afraid that she would die. She had an intestinal obstruction that required a change of hospitals, surgery at 18 hrs old and 10.5 weeks in the neo Natal ICU. Her birth weight dropped by half before she finally rallied. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal, incurable genetic disease. She is now 22 and in moderately good health, i.e, not in hospital.
Birth of 2 more grandchildren, 1 of whom also has CF
Going on a 52nd anniversary cruise with 3 grandchildren, daughter and SIL(50th cancelled by Covid).

My husband and I just went to Alaska for our 30th anniversary. It was the most beautiful week of my life (barring children!), and we are already talking about going back for our 35th.
My husband and I went on a Hawaiian cruise last Sept for our 15th anniversary and the first stop was Maui. It's so sad to see on the news the devastation where we spent an enjoyable day sightseeing, shopping and dining.
