I ADORE Riley Hart, but I'm struggling on this one. It's probably a "me" issue, but be warned. This isn’t a sweet story with a cute HEA. It's a challenging read chock full of triggers, pain kinks, and past abuse which I don't usually want.

I'm sorry to say that the authors lost me at "WeChat". I've lived in China on and off since 2001, and NO WAY would anyone as paranoid as Silas use it. It's SO heavily monitored by the government, you can't say ANYTHING. Maybe if he was using Signal, or WhatsApp? But NEVER WeChat, my gawd.

After that, my suspension of disbelief was gone and I think I was lost from there. Plus I wasn't really resonating with the characters. It's Riley Hart, so it's still a 3 ⭐ read, but just be warned about the content!
