5/26/2024 - I came across this quote in the book, Two-Part Invention by Madeleine L'Engle. She writes, "Ellis Peters, in A Morbid Taste for Bones, one of her delightful whodunits, gives a beautiful description of what I believe to be intercessory prayer:

"He prayed as he breathed, forming no words and making no specific requests, only holding in his heart, like broken birds in cupped hands, all those people who were in stress or grief.""
