Joelle you got further than I did. I was determined to finish as well, but in the end I had to give up, in case this painfully slow venture put me off reading entirely! Haha
I am with you. This book was like watching 8 hours of soccer, with the final score 0-0. Somebody shoot me.
Eh, I thought there were some intriguing plot elements. At least enough to keep some interest through all of the navel gazing.

I'm struggling to finish this book. I've been reading it for several months - slowly, page by page. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. I had higher expectations for a classic vampire novel.
i too am struggling with this...i have been reading this book for 3 months now...it just going to slow for me but i will try to finish it since its hard for me to abandon books.
Lol. Since she/he doesn't clarify what message can you get from the book, i guess she/he just wanted to sound herself/himself smart.
So glad to see this review because im having a hard time with it and all of the reviews are so glowing
I don't think I have your determination and I agree with most of the other comments. I understand why people who like goth and describing writing styles might like it but it is difficult to get into.
Same here. I have less than 90 pages and it's a chore to get through. I hated Twilight and was hoping this one would make me appreciate vampires. Ugh 🤦♀️ Stupid reading challenge. It's my last one.
I don't know how I've managed to make it to Part 2, but here we are. I will soldier on in hopes to finish this dull and boring writing because i can't bring myself to not finish a book. 😕 I wonder, do the other books in this series pick up??
I've made it almost to the end of Part 1. It has taken me a week to get that far. I finally thought I'd check reviews on Goodreads and see if anyone else found this book as tedious and uninvolving as I do. Thank goodness I found your review. I can now toss the book aside. Sorry, it's rare for me to "force myself" to finish a book, and there's no way I make an exception for this one. Another 200 or so pages of this? Not a chance. And since it looks like the author made a career of this type type of book I suppose this will be the last (ha ha, it's also the first) of hers for me.
Oh, I couldn't agree more. Little bumps here and there to get me through excruciatingly slow and boring parts but overall wasn't my favorite.
