I really like to listen to this series. Its just easy and effortless on audio and it doesn’t hurt that the narrator has a super pleasant voice.

Charles is dealing with his enforcer issues. When he kills, the victim’s ghost lingers and it’s starting to get to him. I’m not sure if this is enough of a storyline for me because personally it’s a little weak however the author wrote it in a way that it didn’t take away from the story.

Anna is always on Charles side and they work together on their issues like every book. Their relationship is very tame and kind of boring, but it’s never frustrating so I rather have that.

The fey have a role in this book and I didn’t hate it, although that isn’t really my jam. Overall, it’s just a good series to have in the background and seeing the process of Anna and Charles relationship process with each book is nice to read.
