Remember that book you swore you weren't going to read because you knew it had a giant cliffy....Yeah, that one which turned out so good, you couldn't resist and you read it anyway...Well, get prepared because you are going to try to resist and wait again... but you won't be able to...Because this series, The Royals, is just too addictive...and once you have had your taste of their Drama/Angst/Swoony Romance....there is no turning back... only wanting more, more, more.

All who experienced Paper Princess (https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...) know this is a high–octane read with equal parts YA/NA crossed with Gossip Girls Prep School Drama and "One Percenters" throwing their weight around. The huge difference is the main character, Emma, has landed herself in this no man's land with amazing ability to hold her own.

In the first book we were lead through an artful introduction to the Royals, learned of their hang-ups and against all odds... experiences the first bloom of romance between Reed and Ella....
each character complex and fully formed...each character you felt for...

Before it all went to shit in a hand basket by the last pages of the book....

We are now back in that same time and experiencing more of this turning point through Ella's and Reed's eyes. So like I titled my review...the two steps forward Reed had done with Ella; falling for her and her feeling like everything was finally turning around....gets slammed back by at least three steps or more...

We get so much plot in this installment... there are set ups and then actually resolutions...only to lead to more conflicts and issues to be handled. It is all too good, I tell you....

Every single plot maneuver is solid. Every secondary character is not secondary at all... they are other planets revolving around this big main story and you want more of each one of them.

And you will also be madly in love with all of these Royal men... Easton took a piece of my heart......the twins are playing with fire...and the secretive Gideon... we even get a peek at his internal pain...and Reed.... he is something all together broken, strong, feeling and caring all on his own.

The core strength of these people...each an equal on the page... wrapped with the mistakes of youth... thinking they know how to protect and love....

Oh these Royals....so destroyed by their combined past and actions, yet somehow when push comes to shove, they band together...

So my best advice is to either vow to stay away until the entire series is out...or better yet... Experience all of it as it comes... every delicious detail... for you will re read parts just to see if your mind missed anything...

And don't think I have let this review slip by without mentioning how brilliantly perfect this writing team of Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick is... disguised as Erin Watt...oh, no...
This partnership has created a world you are drawn to yet repelled by all at the same time...

For they bring all the current concerns which are happening Right Now through this over privileged, status seeking, shallow-goal merry go round... They take us deep into a cynical, unethical, Lord of the Flies environment of mythic proportions...with adults who have abdicated their authority and think throwing money at abhorrent behavior will release them from confronting what is inherently wrong; their lack of involvement in molding healthy minds. These crafty authors are using all the glittery jeweled surroundings and are tearing away at the surface to show everything is spit, paste and dust...

Is it pretty, no...
Does it cure Cancer and End World Hunger, no...
And does it border on "1% woe is me problems", sure...
Yet it also shows front and center the loss of love, of guidance at young impressionable age impacts everyone, no matter what their financial status... it is the Great Equalizer....
And most importantly, it brings to light in a very entertaining, fully engaging way Societal Issues with a helluva, terrific romance and plot.

I'll take that any day...

Twisted Palace is coming October 17th 2016...I promise you it will be as Twisted as Twisted can be....
