RIPTIDE.....RIPTIDE... I'm chanting in hopes that he will come from behind that door. I will see the flash of the red robe. Uhm, yes I realize all sanity has walked right out that same door. Don't judge me. This man, this series, its the bomb. Trust me. You will be chanting too! All righty leaving fantasy behind and getting to this review.
RIPTIDE.. Sorry I had to try....

Remington Tate has once again graced us and comes alive again in the pages of Mine. Katy Evans has written one of the most outstanding alpha males. He is a fighter. He is rough. He is almost predatory in his behavior at times and I adore every second I spend with him. He has all you need.

“You are going to love me until I die. I’m going to make you love me even if it hurts, and when it hurts, I’m going to make it better, Brooke.”

Book two kicks off at the start of the Underground fight season. You are immediately knuckle edged holding your breath. You feel the tension of the room. You smell the sweat in the air. You are engulfed with Brooke's and Remy's connection. It palpable and raw...

“Every second that you and I breathe, you belong with me.”

One smile, one look, just one and her skin is on fire. Remy and Brooke cause feelings in one another on a primal level. It's hot!

"His smile flashes at me from the ring, and very clearly, his two dimples tell me how much he enjoys leaving me in a puddle of love and longing. The devil.”

I have to be honest at times during book I wanted Brooke to be quiet. She tends to on occasion be single focused. Now normally this is on the sexy appeal of Remy. Hmmm now that I think of it I would be too. I just would like her not always second guess herself.

She has had a lot of growth as a person. Her life was at one point laid out and her plans made. It is a huge change in Brooke from book one. Her plans changed and she was overcome with a love that took her by surprise. Ripped her open and flayed her soul.

Katy has written the characters and kept all the flaws. No sugar coated HEA. It's a rough and tough ride. They work for it. It's real and gritty. Katy has taken two people and cracked the shells wide open. These two get each other. They feel each other on levels that are remarkable.

"You’re everything I never knew I wanted.��

Book two gives us a glimpse of what happens after the new has wore off. What life is like loving a man like Remington Tate. It also shows us Brooke learning to love Riptide too.

I view Remy as two people. The fighter and the man. I think being in love with him you must love and accept both. Can Brooke do this? Will jealousy make her mind work over time.

“I want you. I want you to touch me, to put your lips on mine – like before. I want you to love me. Stop fucking punishing me, Brooke. I love you.”

Of course The Scorpion is around and doing ALL he can to complicate things. Brooke's sister - I want to strangle her. Will she ever learn! Her parents did not exactly thrill me for part of the book either. (Read it and you will understand!)

Then add the beauty of unexpected changes and life happening. Fighting your way back to a championship. Fighting your mind for control and trying to not go black, plus all the complications that come while your black.


These two have issues that need to be worked out. Not long ago a note was left and heartache followed. Brooke and Remy need to build. They need to focus on what they both want. It's not easy being in love. It's not easy being in a relationship and add the outside forces working against them and internal struggles with illness. You root for them and are in their corner.

This book is a great addiction.. Yep it was not a typo it's an addiction. The story keeps you interested and holding on for the ride of your life.

I cannot wait to see what happens next. Take the time to read this series. You won't be disappointed.
