When Millie's elderly best friend and roommate dies, she vows to bring Mrs. Nash's ashes to Florida and reunite her with the lost love of her life. But when the airlines go down, Millie finds herself on a road trip from DC to Florida with aspiring writer Hollis. Hollis is the grumpy to Millie's sunshine, and this road trip will challenge them both.

I read this book because it fit the Ripped Bodice bingo square "Pen Pals" for the 2024 summer challenge, and I really enjoyed it. This title is not something that really calls to me, but don't judge a book by its cover (or title) because this was a great romance that tucked in quite the emotional power punch. Millie was such a fun character and I loved her pairing with Hollis, it just worked so well. And even though the romance took place over a short time, the writer did a really great job on selling me and it was all entirely believable. I think Sarah Adler just became and auto-read author!
