For a book called Horror Movie, there’s precious little here in the way of tension or horror… and if you have the resolve to see it out til the end, you’ll be met with a self-indulgent circle jerk where author Paul Tremblay rolls his eyes—literally and metaphorically—at the horror genre. He’s jaded, you see, by the state of horror today. If only it wasn’t so CRASS and OBVIOUS; if only it was smarter and more high-brow! Such a tragedy for him, I’m sure. I, on the other hand, nearly chipped a tooth gritting my jaw in ever-increasing fury as Tremblay’s head wended its way further and further up his own literary ass just to declare how delectable his farts smell.

This is most observant of you. Impressive.
This review is the MOST entertaining thing I’ve read since beginning this book. So accurate, and likely similar to what I would have written, instead of the angry rant I submitted while finishing the book.
I had my doubts about adding this to my read list, and this review alone made up my mind. Thank you. Obviously, it also made me laugh and think of a particular South Park episode, which I’m also guessing perhaps you’ve seen considering the very specific joke you used, lol. And if not, then there is definitely a South Park episode that you need to see. But I digress, thank you for preventing me from wasting my time on yet another crap book. I’m desperately trying to find brilliant, edge of your seat, horrors and thrillers and I am having a genuinely difficult time. If anyone reads this and has suggestions, I am all ears!!
