King of Scars (King of Scars, #1)

The biggest draw to the "King of Scars" - Audiobook is its captivating storyline.
Leigh Bardugo is a storyteller, and she has a gift for creating intricate plots filled with complex and fleshed out characters that keep you engaged.
Another highlight of the audiobook is the narrators. They did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Each had an excellent accent and emotional depth in their narration, and listening to the audiobook was like watching a movie in my mind. I felt as if I were living and breathing within the story. The distinct voices, and factual accentuation of characters, added an extra layer to the audiobook. Listen: "King of Scars" - Audiobook Edition
That said, there are some things that might not work for all listeners. The pacing can feel slow at times, and in the middle, when the political scenes are more prevalent, the audiobook sometimes feels slow. Some may find these areas dragging, wishing for things to happen or conflicts to resolve at a faster pace than they did. Also, if you are new to the Grishaverse, you might be a little lost with all the characters and references from other books. So, if you are already tied up and invested in Bardugo's prior works, you'd likely enjoy this audiobook as a richer experience.
