Saving 6 (Boys of Tommen, #3)

This one was honestly less painful than what I was expecting it to be but then the ending happened and now am scared to start the next one 😭😭
I love these characters so much, especially Joey. Reading his pov was heartbreaking. It felt like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders and it made me want to cry. I just want to give him the biggest hug and tell him he's so loved. Is that too much to ask? 😭
The only reason why it wasn't a perfect read for me was cause of Aoife. I was fully prepared to love and adore her and reading this book made me feel really disconnected from her, especially in the first half. What I knew of her from Shannon's pov is a completely different person in this one. The whole thing with Paul was annoying to read. That made zero sense to me. I get the whole drama and teen angst, I also understand the whole "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and yet that storyline was completely unnecessary imo. Thankfully, Aoife matured enough in the second half for me to like her. I love how supportive she can be. I love how she sees Joey as a person instead of just his trauma. I love her zeal, loyalty and determination.
Joey and Aoife make perfect sense and they will be such a power couple once there's stability in their lives.
Also, I still hate Joey's parents. Like how many excuses can we make for his mom? I do sympathize and understand BUT the mother is a fully aware adult telling her own son how he's a horrible person even though all he's ever done is love her.. Screw you, mom. There, I said it.

Scared to start this as it's going to be a painful journey but am ready to hear Joey's story now. I love that man so much 😭

"Idk if it's just me but I feel very disconnected from Aoife when it comes to her relationship with Paul, it's like a completely different personality. Both Paul and Aoife are toxic for each other and just dragging each other along for nothing. Aiofe with Joey tho is more balanced than erratic.."

Great review as always ❤️ I know what you're talking about when it comes to Aoife! She was like a different person from what we knew about her from Shannon's POV but thankfully she grew on me. Also Joey needs a blanket, a warm hug and to finally have some peace 😭
I’m glad you enjoyed it, despite feeling disconnected from Aiofe. I get what you’re saying, she also got on my nerves in the first half of the book 🫣 but I love her so much, I think there’s no one else more perfect for Joey than her 🥹 and Joey, omg, his story broke my heart 😭 the next book is more painful, in my opinion 🥲
