I really wanted to like this book but I got really annoyed with Mercy who was just a know-it-all, reckless, and refused to listen to anyone else putting herself, her dog, and others in danger. Doesn't really sound like the ex-military hero that I was expecting. The storyline was kind of just all over the place and apparently Mercy was the only one smart enough to put any of the pieces together despite being surrounded by perfectly capable characters.
