“I think there’s a natural goodness built into human beings. You know when you’ve stepped across the line into evil, and it’s your life’s challenge to try and stay on the right side of that line.”
i put off reading this book for 3 years because i was afraid i wouldn’t like it. but suzanne collins never disappoints and i never should have doubted her

I’ve also been putting this off, but the audiobook just became available on Libby and I trust your options, so I guess it is time.

I understand why you put it off for so long as there was the worry when I read it that it wouldn't live up to the magnificence of the Hunger Games trilogy. But as you said Suzanne Collins never disappoints and this installment in her world was great. This is probably an unnecessary question but are you going to watch the film when it comes out?
The reviews are so negative and I don’t understand?? I think a lot of the people who criticize its writing style, pace, and “dryness” would probably not even like the original trilogy if they went back and reread it. Those books are as dry as Peeta’s bread, thats just the writing style Collins uses
I was feeling so skeptical about this because of the mixed reviews, but I think this review is a push finally pick it up!
I'm finishing this one right now and I thought the same, "why did I put off this book when I always know that Collins never fails?" Loving it
it's genuinely so good - not exactly like the trilogy but still has the though provoking elements that Collins is so good at
I LOVED this book, read when it came out around covid times, it was great, can't wait to go see it on the big screen !!
I’ve put this one off too. I suffered such a book hangover after reading the original 3 I didn’t want to go back to that feeling.
I will read it soon.
