** spoiler alert ** I was really enjoying this book until about the 50% mark when the hero blew it all to shit.

The heroine’s former alpha (not hero) murders her mom, beats a family friend & threatens to kill him if she doesn’t behave, tries to rape her while changing for the first time into her wolf , permanently fucking up her & her wolf, drugs her, beats her, starves her, humiliates her, & dumps her in in a new packs land that’s supposed to be super brutal & savage. He also murdered her father 3 years before. So girl is going through it.

4 days after she gets her wolf & goes through all that, her & the hero have sex (consensual) but he claims her without her permission & she’s pissed, rightfully so. All her other shit catches up to her too & she’s struggling & thinking about ending her life. How does the hero respond to this??? He tells her she’s throwing a pity party, calls her insecure, battered, bitter, moping, spoiled little shit, “don’t want your insecure, pitying weakness”, “you’re not claimed because you’re not the wolf I thought you were”, & leaves her alone on the mountain she was thinking about jumping from.

He does end up apologizing & admitting he’s wrong, but very minimal groveling & only after he tries to make her jealous with another woman to manipulate her into claiming him back.
