it was amazing

Rod and Caleb set this book on fire

This is an offshoot of the Pursuit Of Love series, but stands completely alone and you won't be sorry if you go and read those books too. The Flower Arrangement stars Brendan and is very sweet. The Blindfold Date stars Brian (Brendan's brother) and E (a Dom and Rod's friend) and is not as sweet but sweeter than Stitch Me. The Lonely Date is a prequel to The Blindfold Date starring Brian and E but introducing Rod too. I loved all three of these and I'm so glad Rod now gets to tell his story.
Caleb holds a lot inside him which he reveals to no one, and the pain from fighting is the only way he deals with that. His history is very sad and has made him fiercely independent.
Rod gets by but is lonely and also not happy, two facts he only realises when he crosses paths with the magnetic and unforgettable Caleb. He is also haunted by a past event, and he wants and needs someone to share his life and his lifestyle, someone to care for and to dominate.
Caleb needs pain and Rod wants to give him that. Caleb is eager to explore the lifestyle once Rod explains submitting doesn't mean giving up control. They are perfect for each other in every way. Rod's attention, affection and love allow Caleb to find a peace he never knew and, in return, Caleb lights up Rod's life and helps to heal his wounds too.
This story has trigger warnings so beware but, despite Rod being a sadist, all the scenes between Rod and Caleb are full of caring and love. I braced myself for 'hard limits' scenes but Caleb loved everything Rod introduced him to, and it wasn't anywhere near as pain-filled or nasty as I imagined it might be. Every scene between them just cemented their compatibility and connection even more, and their story would not be the same without all those scenes.
