I read an excerpt of FORGIVING LIES, and I'm honestly torn: on one hand, Rachel has to be one of the strongest protagonists McAdams has ever written. My jaw almost dropped while reading it:

Now I was getting mad. He didn't own me, he definitely wasn't my boyfriend, and this was Aaron. The same gay guy Blake didn't like 'loking at me'. "And since when do you get to decide who I hang out with? Look, maybe I've been giving you the wrong impression over the last few days, but we aren't together. You have no say in what I do."

Finally! A female character who realizes being ordered around and being told who can and can't look at her is wrong.

On the other hand, I fear that I'll come to dislike Rachel just as much as Harper or Cassidy. She has the exact same slut-shaming attitude toward women.
