Carol is a teacher that falls in love with Declan - a single father with two children. What happened to Declan's wife is the source of much speculation. But Carol finds herself attracted to him and goes with it. Fast forward several years and Declan is now in a home and appears to be suffering from Alzheimer's. When it becomes clear Declan's condition will not improve, Declan's children quickly ask Carol to move out of the shared home so they can sell it. Carol is devastated and angry.

But, her parents (well off business owners) decide to bid on the place to make Carol happy. What happens after they put in a bid is when things get good.

It's a fun read. I could see this as a movie for sure. There is some suspension of disbelief, but that's ok. I can do that when the writing carries me forward. I enjoyed this one very much.

Laura Great review, Elizabeth! Do you think this would be a good book to listen to during insomnia times? For me, that means cozy, not too exciting, but not so boring that it doesn't distract me from what's keeping me awake lol. Also, if it's too medical then that for me would not be cozy, so it wouldn't work for this?
