Before I Let Go (Skyland, #1)

Well . . .I wrote it, so you would assume I have glowing things to say about it. I hope it will glow. I hope many will see themselves in its pages. Will feel heard and validated and encouraged. There is a lot of healing that occurs in this book. Usually when that happens, you're healing FROM something. There are some heavy topics here, which you might expect if you've read my books before. As usual, there is lots of emotion, but I don't want it to overshadow the joy, the laughter, the strong friendships and family bonds that are such a part of Yasmen and Josiah's journey. They're a divorced couple co-parenting and running a business together. They are soul mates who got derailed by life. They heal as individuals, and that prepares them to be a couple again. It's a steamy, swoony, spicy, slow burning second chance. Hope you enjoy <3

I cannot wait to get my hands on this book! Kennedy Ryan, you're an artist par excellence. I love your writing!
Finished the audiobook version in 24 hours like pretty much ALL your epic books. This one was WOW. Just WOW. So much beauty in the bittersweet of their lives... I loved every second of it. And the book narrators omg - NAILED IT!!!!
I picked this book for an add on in my BOTM and wow I am so glad I did! Such an amazing story. Honestly one of my top 5 books I’ve read in 2022! Thank you for the awesome story!!
Thank you for writing such a beautiful roadmap for healing, parenting and building community. You are a gifted writer. Please hurry with the next books in this series! ; )
I love your name both family names for me and my granddaughter is Kennedy this is the first of your books I have read it was very good and certainly kept my interest thank you
You know a book is good when it's receiving an overwhelming number of 5-star ratings! Fantastic job!!!
YOU DID THAT! That’s all I have to say. I know it’s the beginning of the year but this is my favorite book so far lol
There are absolutely no words for how beautifully written this book is. You put your everything into this and I have already labeled as the best book I’ve ever read. This is my fourth book of the month and I’m ready to re-read it and I literally finished it maybe 12 minutes ago. Thank you for this beautiful story of pain morning hope and restoration and most of all love. I really can’t explain how much I love reading this book and how much love I felt for these characters. I’m excited for this series, but I also don’t know how to say goodbye specifically to Yas, and Josiah.
I loved this book! I hope we get a second book centered on Soledad because I think there’s a good story there. I am not usually a romance reader but this book had me hooked. Loved it.
I just finished and I'll never be okay. It was TREMENDOUS. please, please 🙏🏻 tell me Hendrix and Soledad are getting books next 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You are GIFTED and I loved every second of this book, even the parts that hurt.

I had to sit this book down for a minute because it mirrored so much of my life and my marriage. It definitely stirred a lot of emotions for me. The story was beautiful. Thank you for this
This is a wonderful book. Thank you so much for pushing through writing it (and thank your husband for reminding you about it).
I've written down the part about setting a date to forgive yourself because I need it...for a friend.

Favourite book I’ve read since coming out of my several year slump!! Beautiful story and amazing writing, cannot wait for the rest of the series ✨
I’m half through the book. All I’m thinking is I’m gonna be soooooo upset if they end up together again…forever!!! 😡😡
I loved every page of this book. I finished it days ago and I am almost done with another book but I’m still going back to this book and the most incredible therapy representation, the most beautiful brutal story of life and love. I am blown away. This one will stay with me. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for writing this beautiful story. It touched my heart in so many ways. I read it slowly because I didn’t want it to end. 💙 This one will stay with me a long time.
I just finished this book and I loved it. I was drawn in from the beginning and could not put it down. Beautifully written, I saw myself in Yasmeen and loved reading from Josiah’s POV, helped capture the nuances of the dissolution of a relationship from both sides. This book touched on so many things, it was relatable, romantic and 🔥. I cannot wait to read Soledad’s story!
I am currently going through mending a relationship of 7 years so this is defiantly right up my alley, and I am so excited.
It’s making me so sad… i keep just wanting to put it down, but i keep telling myself that the sunshine for Yasmeen is gonna come.. sigh!
As a mental health clinician, I have yet to see therapy portrayed in such a realistic and, can I say, typically relatable way. Too often therapy is portrayed in extremes. The therapist is either too ill themselves to provide good treatment or the patient is displaying more pathologies than most of us generally see in our practices. Yasmine and Josiah’s journey is as real as it gets and I applaud your efforts to share with us such an authentic read. So beautifully written!
I'm trying to understand how some people rate this book as "wonderful" or the "best book ever read". I struggled through it only because it was a selection for my book club. One thing I DID like I'd how it addressed how Black men are against therapy. I was pleased that Josiah was able to find healing through therapy.
This book spoke to my soul. I was literally in tears in the first 50 pages of reading this. Thank you!
How many books do you have out?! Before I let go was absolutely breathtaking!!!!!!!!!!! 😭♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😅
I loved this book! It really resonated for me as someone who has experienced miscarriages. Also their chemistry was amazing! 🔥🔥
I don’t like how everything fell on the black woman. Josiah was in the fault too but you make Yasmen the scapegoat and I’m tired of that narrative.
This was my first Kennedy Ryan book and I loved every second of it. So many aspects were very relatable to me from the black family business owners, community faces, raising two children and then some. Parts of this story is my current experience minus the divorce. I loved it and look forward to reading more of Kennedy Ryan’s books.
Beautiful story of healing and restoration. I believe this is how all books should be written. So many books are just so sad but you bring hope to the sadness of reality. Thank you for sharing.
