What a heart wrenching, yet *beautiful* and insightful memoir. This is on my “my teenage children will be forced to read this and they will genuinely love it” list.
My favorite line (paraphrasing): focus on the big picture. Beauty is subjective and life is short.
Edited to add: I also realize in many of my reviews of memoirs, I mention that I want to become bffs with the writer, Ariel included!
Content warning: depictions of surgery and eating disorders.
