it was amazing

This book stressed me out, broke my heart, made me angry, made me cry, gave me chills, and left me speechless. It did all the things to my mind, body, soul, and digestive system. The plot is amazing. The characters are amazing. Its suspenseful and addicting. It’s packed full of allegories and social commentary on institutionalized racism, sexuality, and bullying—all done flawlessly.

Ace of Spades follows two students, Chiamaka Adebayo & Devon Richards. While these two MCs have completely different backgrounds, the prejudices they face are the same and they have to fight every day against them, despite not even realizing it at times. I adore both of these characters. They made me laugh, cry, and if it hadn’t been for work i would have read this in one sitting because it is the definition of “unputdownable”.

I cannot recommend this book enough. For fans of Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, and dark academia—this is your new required reading, assigned by me. There will be a pop quiz.
