I was a little worried going into Roommate that I would be really lost as I've fallen behind in my reading of the True North books. But I needn't have worried as Bowen did a great job at giving the reader all the information that a reader would need to know in order to know people and events in the world and how they connected to them. While I knew there were certain pairings that happened in books I never felt like I missing anything when reading. This story was very focused on Kieran and Roderick and it did such a good job at having enough side action to be realistic but not too much to take away from the main story. And let me just say - I *loved* this story! I loved the history of these two characters and I loved their journey as they went from definitely not friends to finding their HEA. There was tension and drama but it was all realistic and not the something that could have easily been solved by a two second conversation. I feel hard for these boys and their story and I rushed through this one. I could have done without the epilogue but it wasn't as terrible as most epilogues usually are. If felt too much like an afterthought as a way to introduce the True North world series, Vino and Veritas, and wish that this had been woven more organically into the main story. But other than that I love watching these characters journey - they both were hurting so much at start for different reasons and just loved seeing their bond and romance develop. Highly recommend.
