A Psalm for the Wild-Built (Monk & Robot, #1)

Becky Chambers's writing feels like home to me.
Comforting and inclusive while making you rethink what you know through sci-fi.
The main character is non-binary and a monk so they were referred as "Sibling" (instead of "Brother" or "Sister") which was great.
If you're intrigue to read a "slice of life" with a monk and a robot trying to make sense of their lives... read this!
I already can't wait to read book 2!

I've just read To be Taught, if fortunate because of your recommendation and I LOVED it, can't wait for this one to come out!
Your constant advice about To Be Taught if Fortunate introduced me to Becky Chambers. Now I want to read everything she writes. So cozy.
Charismatic - It really wasn’t confusing after the first 10 or so pages. The brain is a remarkable thing and adjusts to new concepts quickly!
Additionally, sex and gender are not the same thing. I’d recommend reading up on the definitions so you can know the difference and further enjoy the author’s inclusive writing! It’s really easy and you’ll find it useful in day to day life.
And even if we’re going to pretend that sex and gender are the same thing, you’re still a bit off. There are 10 different combinations of sex chromosomes. :) XX or XY may be the most common, but that doesn’t erase the existence of other combinations nor do you have the right to diminish those combinations to “birth defects” instead of a sex identity (not gender identity) in and of itself.
