did not like it

The review process for this book has become a farce. Mormons give the book 5 stars because they believe in this junk. Non-Mormons give it 1 star because they recognize it for the fiction that it is. And so it goes.

Olivia Hi Jace,

You will find the following in your goal:

-LOTS of fiction
-NO true History
-Lots of wording that will make you want to pull your hair out!!!

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

haha. okay, so only about the pulling your hair out part. You get used to it pretty quick, but that's probably just me. :P The bible's supposed to be harder to read, and it is a little, but I read it with no problem, too, so... but, anyway, good luck with that, Jace.

Dianna sad you feel this way. the book of mormon is a companion to the bible. have you read the holy bible ? i am reading the bible for the second time in a year. please do not judge the book of mormon until you have read the book of mormon or know our church...the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints

Katherine Crabtree @Diana "I should probably read it again" is what the commenter said so clearly he HAS read the book of mormon. please do not judge this rater until you've read his review.

Christiana Hadji I agree that The Book Of Mormon is a companion to the Bible. They both belong on the sci-fi shelf, right next to the Quran.

Logan Simonsen If it was a get rich quick scheme then it didn't work out very well for him.

Kyle Baird Unfortunately, your review is deeply lacking. You haven't reviewed the book - you shared your thoughts on the Church that believes in the book. The two are not the same thing. Out of curiousity, if you think Joseph Smith was illiterate - how was he able to write this book? Pretty impressive feat for someone without an education.

message 8: by Mitchem (new)

Mitchem Lee I think that you must have mistaken the book of Mormon for the Koran and Joseph Smith for Mohammed. I think that's where all hatred is coming from.

Janet Jay Mitchum so when did you finish reading the Quran? I'd love to have a reasonable discussion about it

message 10: by X (new) - rated it 5 stars

X Wow seriously Mitchum? Putting down other religions, way to make your religion look good.

Devin Touché sir. Although, I'd be up for trading all the "And it came to pass"-es with a bit of Vonnegutian "And so it goes".

message 12: by Shellee (new)

Shellee the book of mormon is not junk.

message 13: by Jeroen (new) - added it

Jeroen I love you.

message 14: by Opal (new) - rated it 5 stars

Opal I hate you.

message 15: by Opal (new) - rated it 5 stars

Opal I really wish I could understand how you feel that way, but I can’t. So please stop.

message 16: by Opal (new) - rated it 5 stars

Opal ( I’m talking to Jace

Kathrynne Bowers How can you prove that its fiction?

Nathan Lewis That would be like saying the Bible is fiction.

message 19: by Annabel (new)

Annabel @Dianna @Shellee You are right. Thank you.

Ted Bundy This is not junk and please don’t call it that, it has changed many people’s lives and could change yours, i feel like you don’t want to believe or give it a real try.

message 21: by Michael (new) - added it

Michael Same goes for all religious books, bible bs, quran bs, strobel bs etc etc. The victims of these scams rate them 5 stars like a compliant zombie.

Elizabeth Dunn What if it's the other way around though? What if we turn out to be correct and your wrong? Then what?

Ted Bundy Exactly Thea, they will learn when the second coming happens and they will regret everything they said about it is all a scam and is fiction.

Mihai Pop Indeed, people should give it a 2-star - it has some notable elements of a novel, which need to be recognized for what they are.

message 25: by Mark (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mark I broke the trend. As a happy ex-mo, I gave it three stars for effort.

message 26: by David (new) - rated it 1 star

David Kelly The writing in the book is so bad it's hilarious. Every second verse begins with "And it came to pass" - who can take that seriously? Definitely a one star book. School kids invent better stories.

message 27: by Johnny (new) - added it

Johnny Bolles Nah yall trippin. Have fun realizing that all you fools are wrong.

message 28: by Johnny (new) - added it

Johnny Bolles You just got a .1 IQ David. Maybe if you actually go back to third grade where you dropped out you can realize that its actually true along with the entire church.

message 29: by Emma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Emma Bartholomew Stop hating on our religion please. It's really not necessary

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Stop because you are wrong, you are hating on our religion and that just isn't nice

Reader Honest criticism of a religion is not hate. Honest criticism of a religion text is not hate. It’s an acknowledgment of the flaws of that religion that believers do not want to acknowledge because it directly challenges their beliefs in a way that they can’t process without considering those flaws in a meaningful way.
