it was ok

I very rarely not finish a book, especially one that I was 3/4 of the way through. The writing is beautiful but the generational saga twists all over the place and it just all got too hard. I basically lost interest in any of them. Even the promise of finding out what happened to a few of the main characters who suffered untimely deaths was not enough to keep me there.

Kevin Ansbro Totally agree, Alison. Hollinghurst's writing is exemplary, but the story was a no-show. : (

Alison Kevin I was so disappointed because I heard such good things. I ended up re-reading Brideshead Revisited. At least it had Aloysius!
