When I read this, I couldn't help but think of my former Syrian student I saw yesterday picking up restaurant food for a delivery service. He was a doctor in Syria. Here, he's a sad delivery boy who couldn't even look up so that I could say hello. :-("

"A meteorite hits earth rendering it eventually “uninhabitable”. Space or any planet we could go to in our solar system would, I think, be even more uninhabitable. It makes more sense to figure out how to adapt our living arrangements on Earth rather than getting off the planet, especially using the technology of the 1950s. At least, eventually, Earth would be inhabitable again. That’s never going to happen to Mars."
