really liked it
bookshelves: green-living, nature, non-fiction, philosophy

Fairly dense in parts and light / swift in others.

I found numerous overlaps with multiple aspects of other readings ~ science, nature, naturalist training, folklore, ancient rituals, modern 'green-living'... It's hard to pin it down to a single genre or tag.

I recognized some of the places in NY and knew a bit of their stories. Some of the First Nations were familiar, but their ways and traditions were new. Reminded me of a number of traditions from other cultures and those gleaned from the fairy tales and folklore of old. Some things are more universal than others. Other items reminded me much more clearly of my naturalist training and volunteer work... A fascinating amalgamation of the spiritual, scientific, secular, and social lessons in life.

Would recommend to those that have the time and energy to try to unpack it.
