The Picture of Dorian Gray

"There is no such thing as a good influence, Mr. Gray. All influence is immoral, immoral from the scientific point of view."
"Why?"
"Because to influence a person is to give him one's soul. He does not think his natural thoughts, or burn with his natural passions."
What a horribly incredible book! Oscar Wilde is such a phenomenal writer that I was captivated by every last word. Even when he goes on for an entire chapter about different smells, jewels, fabrics, and instruments I still found it extremely interesting. Loved the beginning, loved the middle, and loved the ending!
4.5

I read it in high school and loved it. Oscar Wilde is amazing! I definitely need to re-read it soon!
