it was amazing

Excellent! I have had a hard time reading Coates. His language seems thick and dense to me so I listened to this and was moved and riveted. I found myself screaming back at the reader with, “yes”, “right on”, etc. it was like being at a prayer meeting! Hallelujah!

Coates traces the history of blacks in this country with data driven narrative that cannot be denied. He weaves together all the vicissitudes they have endured and how white supremacy still reigns its mighty injustices upon them.

This book answered, explained and validated the overwhelming odds black people are subjected to and why trump was elected. It’s a must read!

It is a thoroughly researched investigation into what our black population has known intuitively and viscerally, but whites continue to deny vociferously in spite of data that validates the claim."
