Boys Keep Swinging: A Memoir

I really enjoy the band the Scissor Sisters so naturally when I saw that the lead singer had written a memoir I had to pick it up. The book tales about Shears' childhood as well as his rise into fame. The book goes into detail about Jake's coming to terms with his sexuality as well as some of the more extreme jobs he had to take on in order to support himself. The book falters a bit when it arrives at the conception of the band. The thing that was the most striking was his relationship with Mary, a friend he made in college, something that eventually became the subject of one his songs. I really was touched by this section of the book and wanted to see what would happen with the friendship. If you like the band, you should read this book.
