Borne (Borne, #1)

2.5 stars
A dystopian novel featuring a giant flying bear named Mord and a plant/person(?) named Borne shouldn’t have been so soporific that it literally put me to sleep nightly for two weeks. But hey, at least I’m now feeling well rested!
The best part was the reveal of the letter. But I don’t think it was worth the effort/time to get to that point. Pass.

omg Im 3/4 thru and i literally kerp falling asleep, waking up after a couple hrs, reading another 50 pgs, falling asleep, lol Ive been doing this all day! This shouldve been nonstop excitement...also there is no real plot...It fees very mundane...i think it leans too literary? Its a problem I had with Hummingbird Salamander too (in that case the thing found at the end of the book shouldve been the start of a book, its too long a wade thru mundanity to get to a one -page thing the story couldve been about and wouldve been better). It feels like its not grounded in its sci fi or fantasy enough, that those aspects could be easily taken away. And i dont like that, because thats why i read it.
