it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, mystery, suspense, thriller, net-galley

So, the must-read thriller of 2018, starts in the year 1986. Eddie Adams and friends are on the crust of their teenage years. Doing what young men in those awkward years do, riding bikes, goofing around, looking for trouble. It's Summer time and they don't have a care in the world.

Then one day the fair visits and Eddie and friends who love to draw with chalk. They use different color chalk as secret coded messages and chalk figures. Until one day, the chalk figures lead them to a dead body. And no one in their group left the message. Feeling unnerved yet? This was such a well crafted novel that I wished would've been released for Halloween.

Told in two parts, one in 1986 and one in 2016 the story follows Eddie as both a 12 year old and a 42 year old. The ending will not disappoint you. From what I've been reading, 2018 might be the year of the horror genre.
