Read 5 times. Last read February 17, 2023 to February 20, 2023.

[December 28, 2018] I couldn't sleep and read it in one night. These are so darn readable. I think that since the first book did a lot of the set-up, it allows this one to feel stronger and more fluid. I love Kate so much and we get such a good sense of the kind of hero she is in this book. I love that she's strong, but has her limits. I love that she's sassy and that her big mouth is always what gets her into trouble. I love that she has her strong moral code. That scene with her running into battle, two swords flying? So good.

I'm not usually a big hate-each-other-but-flirt supporter, but I... don't mind Curran. And I think that Andrews is bringing this along so slowly that it's allowing me time to adjust, rather than having it thrown in my face.

I love the world and the supporting characters, and loved meeting Andrea and Julie.

[October 21, 2019] Marking for reread.

[Sometime during Pandemic Summer 2020] Marking for reread.

[January 2022] Marking for reread. I am going to finish this series this year... lol. Maybe.

[February 2023] Marking for reread. I did finish this series in 2022, and now... I'm rereading it.

Emily Your review of this series is what got me to read these books- and I am so grateful for it! I would never have found them without your recommendation! I read the first one and then bought all ten because I knew this series was gonna be one I reread!
