It pains me to say this but I didn't like this... :(
I had no idea what to expect with this short story but I think it was just too disturbing for me. I am extremely sensitive to child abuse and definitely don't like reading about children getting abused. But, since Reyes was an abused child and this was about his childhood I guess there was no way to really avoid it. There were some disturbing situations involving Charley as well. Just didn't want to go there.
Anyway... even though this didn't work for me it will not stop me from diving into the next book in the series! It's still one of my favs...
