Positively Decadent...
"I will take you further than you have gone before. What will be left of you is that which you do not believe exists within you. I will destroy you. I will burn away this façade and I will reveal the true Mia."
(Mild Spoilers if You haven't read the first book, Enthrall)

Holy fucking WOW people. This book really delivered for me.
- More intrigue and emotion
- More character development
- Infinitely more kink

When I say this book was decadent, I mean it. Enthrall Her was like being presented with a rich dessert with layers of complex and sinfully delicious flavors.

It's the kind of thing you savor.
You devour it slowly.
Enjoy every moment.

There was a lot of quick-witted humor which helped to break the tension. This is still very much a story of healing and rebirth... Of fighting pain with pain... But the story is evolving into something glorious and I'm glad I'm along for the ride!

"You are the epitome of the sacred feminine," he said. "Holding the evolution of your beauty within my hands brings an ecstasy like no other. You are an intoxication I refuse to live without."
When we begin this book, Mia and Richard are at a steady-ish spot in their relationship. Mia has moved into his opulent home and continues to work as Enthrall's Secretary.

From the outside, things seem to be going swimmingly for the couple, but there are serious cracks in the foundation. While reading book one, I was on the fence about this unconventional love-triangle... Was I Team Richard Booth or Team Cameron Cole?

By the final pages of this book, I am firmly Team Cole, but I still like Richard, even if he was largely absent from this book.

Mia and Cole were the stars of this Novel...
and Chrysalis was the opulent setting...

Mia Lauren
The irony was not lost on me that the assistant director of Enthrall was giving up the scene. For me, no less. And for all the wrong reasons. He'd made it quite clear that should I broach the subject again I'd be out of a job.
Mia is still waging a silent war with the demons of her past - she has successfully avoided facing various tragedies of her childhood by simply ignoring them.. In order to survive, she had to push forward. Unfortunately, her demons have surged to the forefront after the shocking revelations at the end of the previous book.

Richard and Cameron have insisted that Mia attend regular sessions with a therapist in order to process the shock of seeing her father again. However, Mia is convinced she needs an entirely different kind of therapy.

She's rebelling and pushing away from the only people she feels have ever truly loved and accepted her. Richard refuses to begin her submissive training, which is causing a horrible ripple effect.

Richard can't trust Mia to open up.
Mia can't be trained if she can't be trusted.
Mia begins feeling inadequate and discarded by Richard.
Richard once told Mia he would never give up the BDSM lifestyle.
Mia is finally ready for the harsh sessions of Enthrall.
Now Richard tells her it's Vanilla or nothing.
Doubt begins to creep in for Mia.
She pulls back, afraid to open herself up to Richard...

So you see the problem...
And there's (apparently) only one solution.

If Richard can't bear to train Mia, he will turn her over to his best friend.
...That was the point where I stopped being on Team Richard Booth.

But that's OK, because Dr. Cole is my kind of Dom, and his character really filled out in this book.

Cameron Cole
"You are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen, and until now I've had to give you up, until now."
Dr. Cameron Cole is Club's psychiatrist, and self-professed Connoisseur of the Dark Arts. He is also Director of Enthrall and Richard Booth's best friend.

In the world of BDSM, Cameron Cole is a Master among Masters. His expertise is unparalleled. His ability to profile and anticipate are legendary. He uses a combination of psychology and sexual dominance to break and rebuild the submissives at Chrysalis.

Such a fitting name for the establishment - A chrysalis is the hard casing which protects a butterfly while it transforms into a creature with wings.

The sexual chemistry between Mia and Cameron was evident from the moment they met, but Cameron was playing matchmaker - setting up Richard with this vibrant yet innocent young woman. When Richard decided he couldn't train Mia, he turned her over to Cameron. They have an agreement. A contract.

Cameron Cole struggled to remain detached, but after two weeks of non-stop intense training with Mia, all the walls have come down between them.

Mia flourishes under Cameron's domination, and what began as an innocent crush grew into something much deeper. She began her training in an effort to keep Richard in her life, but now her priories are shifting.

So we come to the point where Cameron must return Mia to her original Master.
Can he do it?
Can Mia?

I guess I'll be jumping into the next book to see what happens!

I'm holding out a (probably slim) hope that this will evolve into an MMF situation... But you know me, I'm a total MMF whore ;)
