"Obsession, as defined by the dictionary, means the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, or desire."
So...where do I begin? This book was beautifully written and intensely erotic...
Chantel Rosenberg is a self taught violinist who never felt more alive than she did when she was with Phillipe Tibideau. When she met him, she felt something missing. Coming into each other's lives when it was most needed, something special sparks between the two of them... They both start to come alive. Phillipe with his art, and Chantel with her music. She is an incredibly gifted violinist, and when Phillipe witnesses her on stage for the first time, he's completely awestruck by her magnetism and poise...

Phillipe Tibideau is an extremely gifted painter who is dealing with what any creative type would consider a nightmare: lack of inspiration. He has so many ideas, but cannot seem to find the it factor he's been searching for. When he witnesses this beautiful woman from his Chateau window, he instantly knows he's found his muse...
Taking the steps two at a time, he became almost desperate to get outside. He needed to meet the woman who had felt his stare and had turned to meet his gaze as if he had called out to her.

Gemma Harris is an up and coming journalist who agrees to move to France and find out the true story of what all unfolded between Phillipe and Chantel. She has a journal, an artist, and a head full of preconceived notions about the man who is a world renowned painter, turned "beautiful monster". Through her pursuit of their publicly questioned relationship, Gemma finds herself immersed in more ways than she could have ever dreamed possible...
I didn't even know who Phillipe Tibideau really was. In fact, the thought of knowing him intimidated me. But now? Now, the thought of not knowing him slays me.

There is... Eroticism by paintbrush.

Eroticism by way of pure unadulterated passion and attraction.

And... Eroticism by way of accompaniment of some very appropriately selected classical favorites.
I have never read a book quite like this before. It was as sensual as it was gripping; as haunting as it was beautiful; as entertaining as it was heartbreaking. The story revolves around a beautiful but ultimately devastating love between two people and how a quest for truth can blur any moral, psychological, or rational lines one may have. It immerses you into the story. You live and breathe these characters. Your heart yearns for understanding and aches for questions answered...
Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind, and, therefore, is winged cupid painted blind.
Give Blind Obsession a shot. It's a uniquely told love story about what happens when you find yourself invested in something that leaves you without complete restraint, and forces you to tap into your emotions, no matter how raw, real, or how perverse they may seem. Get lost in the beauty of it all, experience every emotion this book has to offer. Go on the majestically crafted journey that the addition of classical music brings with this tale. Feel. It. All.

They say there's a place you go when you die Perhaps it's full of life, laughter, and loved ones Perhaps there's no light, no laughter; only darkness PerThey say there's a place you go when you die Perhaps it's full of life, laughter, and loved ones Perhaps there's no light, no laughter; only darkness Perhaps it's a place you've never seen before Or perhaps it's a place familiar to you... You can't know unless you've survived death Survived and come back; But what if...what if upon returning to life All you've discovered is that you're still dead? Walking around aimlessly with no purpose Walking around and simply just existing What if existing is all you have? What if the pain is too unbearable, to all consuming? What if the mask you've put up is not only to protect yourself But to protect others as well?
They say there's a place you go when you die Perhaps it's full of life, laughter, and loved ones Perhaps it's a place you've never seen before Or perhaps it's a place familiar to you... It's impossible to know what it means to come back A survivor. Alive. Breathing. Living. But although you've been revived again Moving. Alive. Breathing. And living. Who's to say you're still not actually dead?...MLD

It doesn't matter if you do everything right, if you dress the right way and act the right way and follow all the rules, because evil will find you anyway. Evil's resourceful that way.
Nastya Kashinov. A beautiful, damaged, and shattered individual. She's dead; murdered in the figurative sense and has no intentions of ever resurfacing to the girl she once was. To keep her identity a mystery to others, she's moved to a city two hours away from where tragedy struck and effectively ended her life. No one knows who this new girl is...All they know is that she wears clothes too tight, too short, always has her hair around her face, and a thick coat of "black shit" constantly rimming her eyes to hide anyone knowing or wanting to figure her out...Oh yes and Nastya? She doesn't speak. To anyone. Ever.
I haven't said a word to another living person in 452 days.

...Although most stories have the one hero of the book, this one had two heroes. Heroes in their very own way...
Drew Leighton. The residential playboy of the school. One of the few who isn't afraid to flirt and charm the girl in school who doesn't speak. I loved Drew for many reasons. Although he comes off as just a charmer, he really does have a good heart. I found his constant shameless innuendos towards Nastya amusing to say the least...
I lifted my head I couldn't help but see him and his I-can-make-you-a-woman eyes and his I-know-what-you-look-like-under-your-clothes smirk
Drew also happens to be best friends with the school outcast, Josh Bennett. A guy who's had a shit time at life, losing everyone he cares about at a young age and trying to make the best of it. He is surrounded by his own force field in which no one speaks to him or pays him any attention...
I wonder what it will take for her to pick up on the fact that she lives in the same world as everybody else, and in that world, people leave me the fuck alone.
Josh's escape since he was a child has been building things. His shop class and lessons from his father have been his therapy throughout his life. His favorite place is working in his garage, if need be, to all hours of the night. He's sarcastic, dejected, and very much a loner...
While Josh's therapy is building, Nastya's is running; and one night her running in an unknown place and paying very little attention to her surroundings brings her to a house that is familiar to her, familiar in a way she can't possibly explain, but nonetheless it's there, ingrained in her, causing her to gravitate towards it. And the house she gravitates towards? Josh Bennett's. That first night showing up at his house unknowingly while he's working in the garage will have been the moment that changed both of their lives. Permanently...

What happens when you deem your self worth so low, you can't imagine that someone, anyone would want to hold you? Kiss you? Love you? What happens when you've diluted yourself into thinking and feeling that you want no one in this world to see you for who you really are? When people aren't allowed in? When you hide everything that is true about yourself? When you have secrets so incredibly dark, that it's all that surrounds you? Your thoughts? Your existence?...
Nastya was so many things, most of all fragile. In fearing life in general, she believes that she doesn't need love, nor does she want it. While she's lost sight of everything she is or can be, others see her for what they believe she could be. Wanting to help fix her, even if she doesn't want to be fixed...
"Wishes. You only get one with a cake, and even that you only get if you blow out all the candles, which is kind of shitty because it's your birthday and there shouldn't be a contingency on a wish."
There was so much to be said for Nastya's story. Trying to fully grasp the darkness that has consumed her, the situations that made me smile, the ones that made me gasp, and the ones that ultimately left me heart broken, was a feat. It was a journey that I became completely invested in and in going along on that journey with Nastya, Josh and Drew I felt like a part of the story and it was assuredly worth all of the emotions I felt throughout... It was stunningly touching, brilliantly written, emotionally scarring, and provokingly thoughtful. It is a 5 star read through and through...
No one knows what hand they will be dealt in life. Even if the hand you have been dealt is one that has shattered your entire being, and murdered your purpose in life, is it possible to move forward? Is it possible to smile again? To speak again? Could you ever learn to love or be loved? Would you be able to forgive those who had a hand in your misery? In the reason why you garner so much hatred? The Sea of Tranquilty told a story about a girl without a future who met a boy on the road to complete isolation and how paths cross for a reason. How fate can bring people in your life to help heal when you didn't think it was possible, when you didn't feel you needed it, and when you truly believed you didn't deserve it.
Even for the most broken of people, happiness is always deserved. Even for the lost souls who have no idea how to get back, happiness is deserved. When tragedy strikes, could you or would you be able to move forward? In getting to know, love and care for Nastya, Josh believed that one day, it could be possible...
"There's got to be a better story. Because we deserve one. You deserve one.".........And if my Sea of Tranquility were real, it would be this place, here....."Your garage."

...That is exactly what this author intended for her readers and she beyond met those expectations. While becoming engrossed in the story of Andrew and Camryn, I didn't feel like an outsider simply reading a book; I felt like I was an actual part of the story. Like I was going along on all of the journey's with these characters... And what a fantastic, emotional, gripping, and unforgettable journey of love, loss, and life it was...
Camryn (aka Cam) has had a domino effect of hard life situations to face. She is unique in the most literal sense of the word. Cam wants for nothing more than to be free from the daily drone of what society expects of her, and after the last slap in her face of life, she sets out on the road to nowhere. She is brave, broken, determined, and intelligent. With nothing but the essentials in a small bag, she sets out on her own journey...
Cam

"One of the worst feelings in the world is being unable to cry and eventually it...starts to make things darker."
In her own world, Cam has shut out her emotions and fear of the unknown. In her mind, she's dealt with everything and anything that could possibly go wrong in life. However, there is something missing; and setting off with no plan is exactly what her heart desires. She needs no one but herself to survive and be happy...That is until Andrew Parrish comes and shakes her world for what becomes the most brilliant, passionate and raw story of real, honest and heart warming love. He is gorgeous, talented and his innate honesty and sense of humor have you in love with him from the very first interaction. His bluntness was refreshing as well as charming...
Andrew

"You ask me, and I'll tell you the truth-anything out of people's usual expectations throws them off track."
...And her spunk is what attracts Cam to Andrew...
"You're not trying to hit on me," I say, "yet you call me 'devilishly gorgeous' and practically use that what's-a-girl-like-you-doing-in-a-place-like-this line all in the same sentence."
...There were laugh out loud moments, wonderful conversations, heartbreaking circumstances and tear inducing situations. Is there really such a thing as fate?
"I was taking the long road and Camryn was taking the road to nowhere and it just so happens that they led to the same place."
Through their travels, you get mentions of great music, you find out their fears, expectations, reasoning. It is told from both Andrew and Camryn's perspective so you were able to really grasp the story and what each of them felt. For each other, for things unsaid, for side glances, for dead giveaway expressions, for moments of attraction...
Touching. Moving. Refreshing. POWERFUL. That's what The Edge of Never was; along with so much more. It made an impact on your thoughts, beliefs and stance in life as a whole. Is it enough to conform to what society deems acceptable? What if you just lived to live? To be free? To feel alive?...
A DEFINITE five star read... An unexpected happenstance of fate which brought two strangers together. Two strangers who had no idea what they needed from this life until it was set right in front of them. Two strangers who ended up being the perfect pieces in a missing puzzle of what their purpose was in this world. This was a completely fulfilling journey of two souls lost who needed to find each other more than either of them ever knew. And in finding each other were able to make those pieces fit...Loving someone is more than just a smile or feeling. It's something that rocks you to your core, something that you can't live without, something that inspires you and touches you in ways that are unexplained. Andrew knew Camryn was special from the day fate brought them together, and his explanation of love to her sums it up beautifully...
For the first time in my life, I've felt whole, alive, free. You were the missing piece of my soul, the breath in my lungs, the blood in my veins. I think that if past lives are real then we have been lovers in every single one of them. I've known you for a short time, but I feel like I've known you forever.

Colleagues for two"When everyone's gone home-like they have now. Then we can act differently."....."And then, Ben, feel free to act however you like."
Colleagues for two years, Melissa has always fantasized about Ben. About being with Ben and when the opportunity presents itself, Melissa is finally willing to take the plunge and seduce him.
Ben has always been aware of Melissa, I mean he has worked with her for two years. But until one late night in his office, he never really noticed Melissa, not in that way. But boy oh boy does he notice her now and it. is. HOT!!!
You have to admire this chic's confidence, not knowing whether or not he would reject her, her reply is simply:
"You should know by now I never jump into any deal without doing a background check first. I watched you, observed your reactions. Carefully. The second I pulled the clips from my hair, your eyes turned a shade darker and your cheeks reddened."..."Your breathing has been uneven ever since. And now? Now it's just plain ragged. And that Cowley, is a huge turn-on."
GO Melissa! We salute you and how confident in yourself you are! To read a man's reactions and KNOW he wants you, bravo!
Benny Boy. Although he did some things that had me *smh*, he was still a sexy man:
"I can't get enough of you, sweetness. When you're not around, I need to be with you. And when you are around I just want more."

SWOON!
This was such a cute short read. Even though there was some very off the charts steamy goodness, it had a sweet story between two people who didn't know what they wanted until they found it in each other. Who didn't know they had demons to overcome until they found out how to truly overcome them with the support of that one person who really gets you. Who really sees you.
4.5 stars from me! I wanted and craved more of Ben and Melissa's story. Although it was a short read, the story did have resolve and I really enjoyed that aspect of it...and lastly...There were some very hot twists thrown in... which I will give you the "pleasure" of reading for yourself (pun definitely intended!)...more

I feel things with you-emotions and ideas and dreams; a deep understanding that brings me to a place I never thought I'd find with another person...I don't know what I'm doing most of the time but I do know how I feel about you. And even if you hate me for what I did, I'll still love you. I'll still love you because you are mine. Mine, Brynne. In my heart you are, and nobody can take that away from me. Not even you.
Oh Ethan, the amount of love you have for dear Brynne is truly special to witness from your actual thoughts. Your protectiveness, the responsibility you feel for her, and how much your body craves her is HOT.
Okay, so All In picks right back up where Naked left off. Brynne left Ethan after finding out that he knew all about her dark secrets...which we discover in the second part to their story...
I think the only major problem I had in reading this book was that he was EXTREMELY possessive. I mean, I get it. You love your girl, you want to protect her and make sure she is safe, especially with all that is looming regarding her safety and the reason her father hired you in the first place. With that said, there were times I literally questioned my Kindle saying things like: "For real Ethan? She just went around the corner." or "You can't be serious, they're just talking."
Who openly admits to talking to their Kindle? This girl right here! I enjoyed the book, but some of his actions were questionable and little outrageous...
Like I said earlier, we do get to find out Brynne's inner demons, it was so heart breaking, but a necessity to understand her self worth and doubt. My heart went out to her. I now fully understand why she always needs people, especially Ethan, to be upfront, honest and open with her. Had I experienced her trauma, I would feel the same.
We also get to find out some of Ethan's demons too. He isn't fully ready to tell Brynne about them, because he wants to protect her from the ugliness that he feels he carries around. I can appreciate and respect that because she is still dealing with her own.
Along with inner demon revelations, this book also had some very scorching skin on skin action! Ethan's body can't help but stand at full salute to Brynne's...like all the time, which for us equals a lot of dirty thoughts turned epic shag scenes from Ethan, which I could certainly live with ;)
"Open up and show me. I want to see what's mine, baby." ~Ethan
..That was just a taste....
All in all, I give this book 3.5 stars. I was left with some more questions, wanting some more drama and a little less of the crazy possessiveness. However, I did like the book and am looking forward to conclusions and more revelations in the third installment. Ethan and Brynne have a very special kind of love. A necessity for each other if you will. Needing someone as much as you need your next breath:
"If you come with me you're signing on for all of me, Brynne. I don't know any other way to be with you. It's all in for me. And I want it to be all in for you too."
That is what Ethan felt for Brynne, and in time, she returned that certain kind of love to him as well....more

"The name's Jude Ryder, since I know you're all but salivating like a rabid dog to know, and I don't do girlfriends, relationships, flowers, or regular phone calls. If that works for you, I think we could work out something special."
Yup that line all but did me in. Didn't work on Lucy Larson though. Even after meeting him on the beach, flirting with him, and then playing hard to get, he walks away but before leaving to tell her,
"So Lucy," he hollered, tucking the ball under his arm, "how much further are you going to let me get before you give me your phone number?"
Cocky or confident? Call it what you will, but it definitely worked for me...Still not for Lucy though. It's okay she eventually comes to her senses.
Jude and Lucy have the ever present "I want what I can't/shouldn't/deserve" relationship. Lucy has just moved from her former life of seemingly having it all after a tragic accident tore apart her family and eventually sent her father's business in a spiral downwards. She meets Jude, the bad guy, the guy from the "wrong side of the tracks" or whatever and falls for him. And to that I say good on you Lucy! Why shouldn't the supposed bad boy have some goodness in his life? We all know it's deserved!
They have monuments of epic proportions to bound through. Lucy's first year at a new school and it's her last year before graduation. Everyone labeling her before getting to know her. Jude's myriad of issues complicating things at every turn. Lucy's insecurities and doubts. The popular guy in school Sawyer who also has his eyes set on her. Jude's anger management problems. Lucy wanting to get into Juliard. You get the picture right? Right. A perfect example:
This man was the pope, president, and god of dodging the topic. Too bad for him, he was dealing with the queen, holy mother, and empress of seeing through a man's steam of shit.
So much happened to these two separately as well as together. When you have someone telling you, after so much bad...
"It's hard not to recognize something special when life's thrown a lotta shit your way."
You can't help but fall in love. Their journey was a rocky one. I was a blubbering mess of tears for about the last 15% of the book. Some were sad tears, some were angry tears, some were shocked tears, but ultimately it ended with happy tears. I absolutely one hundred and ten percent loved this book.
No matter what bad things happened: the women, jail stints, anger issues..Jude summed it up perfectly to Lucy,
"You've got all my firsts. All the ones that matter." ...more
