I stayed up till 3 in the morning no matter I had to wake up 2 hours later to feed my baby. This story hooked me right in and didn't let go.
I would strongly recommend reading The Risk of Falling to get the foundation of the story that unfolds in A Risk Worth Taking, also, because it was a really good book.
Ellie's story is heart-breaking and at times, I couldn't get through it. Her pain and desperation were so potent, I was unravelling right along Ellie. But her strength and courage were so amazing to watch, I was rooting for her along the way.
I absolutely loved both Ellie and Lincoln but I have to be honest and admit that I didn't agree with all their choices or the way they went about things. But those flaws are what made them so real. I loved their chemistry and their dedication to one another. And when those sparks ignited they really went KABOOM!
The suspense that underlined this love story just made everything sharper and had me at the edge of my seat the whole time. So if you love an age gap romance, with a surprise pregnancy, hidden identity and a dash of suspense, you won't regret reading this story.

A Chance EncounterThe queen of "No Glove, ALL LOVE" is back!!! No one does single parent/surprise pregnancy like Nikki Ash and I am so here for it!!!!
A Chance Encounter was everything I needed and wanted. I read this book in one go and couldn't put it down! Easton and Sophia were absolutely amazing together. Their chemistry was off the charts, their banter on point and their connection to die for. This story had me laughing my a** off one minute, wanting to shake Sophia the next and after that I was swooning so hard!!!
I loved Sophia's determination and strength. She was a fighter who didn't know how to get off the defensive position and let someone lend a hand. Her relationship with her daughter was absolutely amazing. And don't even get me started on Easton's connection with Kendall. *OVARIES EXPLODING*
Easton was steadfast and determined and so swoon worthy that I was making googly-eyes at my kindle for most of the book. I was so captivated by this story, Easton and Sophia might just be one of my top 3 Nikki Ash couples. Add in a six year old that will melt your heart while making you laugh out loud, and you have a recipe for one hell of a story....more

I absolutely loved the concept and the story but the time transitioning in this books wasn't clearly indicated and it sort of kept me off balance for at least half the book and kept taking me out of the story.
This book tackles some heavy issues that will get you right in the feels, but unfortunately for me it didn't have enough of a relationship building on the banter and flirty-side of things, so as to balance all they heavy stuff. The characters were given enough room to breath and evolve as a couple. Individually, their journeys were both beautiful and heartbreaking, and I loved their chemistry during the sexy times but I simply couldn't connect with Delia and some of Josh's actions were too immature for some who stepped in as a father figure for his younger siblings at a young age.
I love this author because every time I open up one of her books, I know I'm going to be hit with all the feels and meaningful connections and scorching hot sexy times. And I can't wait for the final book in the series featuring Oliver....more

SP/SB has been my most sought-after genre the last couple of years so obviously I had to pick this up. This anthology by an amazing group of authors is chockfull of babies and kiddos and second chances and basically all the goodness in the world.
Some of the stories felt like they were over too quickly but that's kind of a given with an anthology, but there were some like Finding Prince Charming by Nikki Ash that felt absolutely complete.
Seriously, pick this up if this is your trope, you won't be disappointed, there's something for everyone. ...more

I craved this story ever since we met Hanna and Jake in A Secret for a Secret. Seriously, I think the whole fandom would riot if we didn't get their story.
It's been so long since I read an over forties romance, if ever really, I was thoroughly surprised with how much I connected with the characters and what they were going through and I only have 7 years before I reach my 40s. But Helena is brilliant at what she does and she weaved a story full of heartbreak and uncertainty and fear but also full of hope and love and understanding and trust.
I loved how deep Hanna and Jake's connection was and how unbelievably they understood and supported each other given similar past experiences. There was no unnecessary drama and the honesty between them was humbling.
This book touched on sensitive subjects like miscarriage and late life pregnancy and its risks and it was all done we respect and empathy that you hardly see in romance books nowadays where issues like these or similarly sensitive are simply used as a plot point and nothing more.
And I absolutely ADORED Hanna's determination and Jakes unwavering support. And I loved how issues raised in King and Queenie's book were brought forward, were acknowledged and finally resolved, making the connection and relationship between all these characters stronger.
Honestly, I never want to leave the world of Pucked and All In series, it's one of my most favourite places to be and can't wait for what comes next.

The trope of this book is definitely one of my favourites and it was oh so delicious to watch the Jester fall. But what I loved even more, was Leo's character development and his journey in this story. And don't get me started on Casandra, she was everything that Leo needed.
Their journey had turns and twists and bumps. It was NOT easy, but so satisfying to watch. Even if at times I wanted to smack Leo over the head, but the guy was battling some scary demons and having to deal with present dangers. But Cassie was a firecracker and such a strong and determined woman, with a heart of gold, battling her own demons and trying to carve a path with Leo even if he was constantly messing up.
This was everything I wanted and didn't expect for Leo's story and now I can't wait for Tin Queen but also, I don't want this series to end!...more

MKoB was absolutely beautiful. It was full of unconditional love but gut-wrenching in its rawness. I thought I knew how the story was going to go after that sort-of cliffhanger in Lexi's story at the end of My Kind of Love but I honestly couldn't be more wrong.
Alec and Lexi were absolutely brilliant together. Both in love with each other since they were kids, but both too afraid to lose the other to take that step into more. But their friendship was so beautiful and free of any expectations or demands. Their connection was deep and pure as only kids can form and the fact that they managed to carry it forward over the years into adulthood without tainting it one way or other, was absolutely heart-warming and brilliant and one of a kind!
Lexi's character was so relatable in her journey (view spoiler) that I couldn't help but root for her so hard. And Alec's steadiness and solidness in what he wanted and how he went about getting in....swoon!!!!!
I know Nikki Ash can do dark really well, but I was not expecting her to put Lexi and Alec through some very very rough waters (<---see what I did there? hehe). But once again, the writing flowed and the twists and turns just made it even more emotional and the HEA sweeter.

I absolutely adored Noah and Indy and their chemistry was adorable and intense even if they wanted for it to be casual. Indy was so amazing and I loved watching her open up and how easily she fit with Noah's teammates and how passionate she was about her job and her goals and her worth. And Noah was sweet, and adorable and so very alpha and in a very healthy kind of alpha and I freaking LOVE IT!
The book was full of intensity, passion, tenderness, quite a bit of lack of communication which resulted in all their problems but oh well, the drama was kinda delicious.
If you're a fan of hockey and love to watch two people trying to convince themselves that they're not as deep as they actually are, and a cast of side characters that will intrigue you, go ahead and definitely read this baby.
Oh man, this story had the potential to turn into a phenomenal book but damn if that was the case.
I hate when this happens. Honestly, the premise was Oh man, this story had the potential to turn into a phenomenal book but damn if that was the case.
I hate when this happens. Honestly, the premise was so strong and it could have turned into this raw, emotional, gut-wrenching, heartbreaking second chance story but the writing just took away all its magic. The dialogue is this book was like this longwinded monologues that were supposed to be conversations. One character would start speaking, taking a paragraph (roughly 8-10 lines) and then instead of the response of the other person, we get 2 whole pages of inner monologue that was just rehashing the same things that were said in a previous point in the plot.
It took me a long time to get into this author's particular writing style but even then it just felt choppy, jarring and inconsistent in the story's timeline, meaning there were points, that I didn't even know we changed scenes but the setting would be described later but we didn't get any info of how we ended up in the new scene. It was quite disorienting. And there were so many things that were repeated over and over and over again in addition to the serious editing problem throughout the book that was so glaring, it just took away so much from this amazing premise.
This could have been such an amazing addition to the Cocky Hero Club but unfortunately fell short of glory.
