She may have written other things under different names, or ghost written, or published short stories, but I don't see any other books on her website or Goodreads, and a quick web search did not show her having pseudonym. So, let's assume this is her first published work. It's urban fantasy with a dash of romance and mystery, and it's very well done. It's not gratuitously violent, either. The world building is interesting and different enough from other books in the genre. The characters are loveable, and the mysteries are interesting. I read all three books and one novella that have been published so far back-to-back, then read the short story on her website. Not all series have that addictive quality, but this one did. It's also free to read on Kindle Unlimited. I'm a fan. Does it use tropes? Yes. Is it a bit formulaic? Sure. But if you like this genre, it's well done - I recommend it.
This one sets up the series. The heroine (a mercenary/bounty hunter) meets the hero and doesn't have anything good to say about him after. I don't honestly remember where this book ends and the next begins, but the romance is extremely slow burn - nothing comes of it at all for at least half the series. ...more

This is a This is a a cozy little mystery series about interdimensional trees that look like houses and have magic power. No, wait...lemme try again. This is a paranormal romance about an innkeeper and her werewolf boyfriend. No, that's not quite right, either. This is a sci-fi series about aliens who visit earth. Still not quite there. I give up! It's complicated.
In this one, the innkeeper is hosting a very important betrothal competition that could send galaxies into war if things go badly. There are sentient walking murder trees. There are talking philosopher chickens. And so much more! It's a fun series that doesn't take itself all that seriously from the wonderful married writing couple Ilona Andrews. ...more

Goblins are at war with elves and humans, because they've retreated and retreated from lands as humans take more and more, not being particularly aggressive by nature. They've run out of land, though, and so they are at war. It's not a very organized or effective war, but they are fighting it. There's a group of goblin soldiers that are swept through a combat mage's portal to way far away, into elf and human land. In this land, there's a very kind, practical, not at all snooty veterinarian elf, and they cross paths. There's also an inexplicable absence of all the humans from the nearest village. The story solves the mystery. ...more

This one is about a half-mermaid/half-gorgon heir to the undersea world, only she doesn't have gills and can't really swim, so her mom keeps conquering islands for her. She meets her dad in this book, and likes his bodyguard because he cooked her bacon. Literally. The bodyguard is some mystery kind of were. The heiress's hobby is serial killing serial killers - she looks for patterns and unsolved crimes and takes them out. ...more

Blain because I love her sense of humor. It's about a half Roma/half sphinx woman Kanika who does mercenary and odd job work under the horrible business moniker "Whatever for Hire." She's hired to kidnap a millionaire financial manager/super hot volunteer firefighter for 6 months, and also, Satan has a special interest in her and keeps meddling. She also knows a guy with a dragon. There's a whole bunch of dead people walking around, stinking the place up, too. It gets funny fast. As usual, the ending seems rushed and random - I think this author needs to work on her craft when it comes to ending a story. I'll keep reading her, though, because she's VERY funny. ...more
