It's a fake relationship story with a twist. The girl belongs to the guy's brother.
Madden needs a fake girlfriend to get his ex to leave him alone. The only thing is he's famous and needs someone that will be able to sell it without falling for him and getting hurt.
His best option? His brother's girlfriend, Natalie. She already thinks the worst of him so there shouldn't be an issue with any unneeded attachments. Right?...
As the story progresses, these two characters begins to see each other differently and they also see in each other what others don't see.
They both show the other what a healthy relationship looks like, even if it is fake. Thus, this is where the lines begin to blur.
I was hooked from the first page right up until the very last. It's incredibly hot but also a lot deeper than I thought it originally would get, which made it that much more addictive.

I was emotionally wrecked. Even after a couple of days after reading Beyond the Roses, I still am crying while writing this review. This is by far one of the most emotional books I have read. I barely started reading it and I was already sniffling.
This is one of those books where I know, no matter what I write, I will not do this book justice. This is hands down a 2020 most memorable read and will stick with me for a very long time.
It's a book about inner peace, finding people that are your family regardless if they share your blood or not, learning to love, and living in the moment. It's about fighting, regardless of the outcome, and reconciliation because you never know what tomorrow brings.
I'm not a fan of emotional reads. In fact, if I know it's going to wreck me, I will put it off or not even read it. I prefer being blindsided rather than knowing when it comes to emotional reads.
Having said that, I love Monica James's writing, her creativity. She has the way of keeping me in suspense no matter the type of story she writes.
Even though this book had me bawling my eyes out, I couldn't put it down - even when I couldn't see the words because the tears just kept falling. She just sucked me in and held me through this entire journey.
Monica James did an outstanding job of putting all the feels into this story.
This is one of those books that just need to be read! I normally say not to read the spoilers but I don't think even they will change how you will feel while reading this and after. It's just THAT GOOD!...more

I have always loved Meghan Quinn but I don't recall ever being as emotional as I was while reading this story.
This story is connected to another of Meghan Quinn's. I was embarrassed because I didn't catch it until the story was almost over and the other book is one of my favorites of hers. Once I realized the connection, I became even more emotional. (The book is revealed in the story. Literally - the title is in the book.)
Crew and Hazel are reconnected after three years on a road trip in Germany.
I honestly don't think Meghan Quinn could have written the scenes of the trip any better. I could see the places they visited, smell the gingerbread, feel the cold as if I was right there with them.
Then there is the story of Crew and Hazel. They have to build their relationship back to what it was before they realize what everyone else can see. It's somewhat of a slow burn but the angsty parts are some of the best.
Like I said before, keep the tissues close by. I was a blubbering mess before the end of the first chapter. Don't worry too much about it being over emotional. The story offers comedic and romantic relief to offset the emotional ones.
I liked how there were subtle connections between The Revenge Pact and The Romantic Pact. It's more about the bond been the three guys than anything else.
Neither book gives anything away about the other and can honestly be read without reading the other. (Just know The Revenge Pact is extremely good and needs to be read as well!)...more

FYI - Three is an important number in this story.
I love everything I've read by Ilsa Madden-Mills and The Revenge Pact was no different. She made it unique so that it stands out yet still giving us that emotional tug that keeps us readers cheering for this couple.
I loved how the author created the scenes with certain songs where I felt like I was there in the background watching everything unfold.
Then there is River. Everytime he tapped his leg or twisted his ring, it was as if MY chest was tightening up. When River felt he was about to break, it brought me to tears.
I loved both River and Anastasia. Even though it's told in dual personality, I felt like this was for the most part River's journey. Up until the end, it was his battle, his turmoil, his revelations that were shared.
Also, let me say this works and is no way a complaint.
I really enjoyed this story! This may be may favorite Ilsa Madden-Mills story to date....more

These two are on fire when they need to be but this couple offers so much more.
My heart, my poor heart, hurts when Hollis tells his truth. In each story, my heart breaks for these guys but Hollis had the ability to make my chin quiver as his story unfolds.
I need a Grandma Judy! If Judy and Hollis's scenes don't get to you, there's something wrong with you. I loved the way she rationalized the hurt. Also, she may be the reason I laugh the next time I see a watermelon.
To add to an already incredible read, let's talk about the side characters. This story takes place in Savanah, GA. Adriana Locke gives us not one guest appearance but SEVERAL of them. She also teases her upcoming book that I wanted to read prior to this but now I seriously can't wait to get my hands on it.
The Romantic Pact made me cry throughout the story because it was emotionally charged. I felt like I was crying with the characters.
In The Relationship Pact, it was also incredibly emotional but this time I was crying FOR someone.
I love Adriana Locke's writing. She’s an author I trust to give me a story I will enjoy. She has this way of telling her story where I feel what she's writing. She's made me emotional here and there but NEVER as much as she did with The Relationship Pact....more

This may have just become my new favorite from Kennedy Fox! Gavin and Maize's story was EVERYTHING I hoped it would be. I have been looking forward to this since Diesel and Rowan's story. I DEVOURED this book as soon as I got it.
From their first encounter to the last chapter this book had everything just right! The age gap and the angst kept things HOT!
These two were fun to read when Maize was playing like she had amnesia and hot when they stopped playing games.
While you don't have to read the series to enjoy each book, the previous books tend to tease the characters that haven't had their stories told. Just like I was hooked on Gavin and Maize before I even read their story, I can't wait to get my hands on Bossing the Cowboy....more

Nicole Fiorina is a true artist that paints her pictures with words. As I read, the words slowly faded out and the story came to life.
Fallon is used to living a life of solitude. She's all alone until her grandfather sends her a letter that has her uprooting her life to visit him and take care of him in a town called Weeping Hollow. A town that is full of magic, spells and curses. A place where superstitions are real and reality is ... questionable.
This story has me glued from the first chapter. It has a Poe vibe perfectly mixed with humor, tragedy, hope and suspense. Nicole Fiorina had a way of leaving breadcrumbs that would send me down a path where I thought I knew the direction it was going only to leave me questioning what was really going on.
This story really had me on the edge of my seat. I needed answers and I didn't want to stop reading until I had it all figured out.
For anyone that hasn't read this, one - you MUST have an open mind and two - DON'T READ THE SPOILERS. Read the blurb and then dive in! This is a story where the mystery and suspense is half of what makes it a great read. I think knowing the outcome could potentially ruin the magic of the story....more

This is a must read! Kristy Marie has done it again! She's given us another five star memorable read! I was hooked from the start. Can someone PLEASE pick this up and make it into a movie?
Sebastian and Valentina's story is anything but conventional. It's full of humor and sparks as they either one-up each other or pretend to love each other.
This story was full of humor but just when I thought I would come out unscathed, Tim has his fatherly talk with Vee. Cute the freaking waterworks!
I loved how Kristy Marie wove bits and pieces of the Commander in Briefs series into this story. Not enough where someone that hasn't read it would feel lost, but enough to satisfy those of us that are addicted to those Marines and their women.
Also, all this teasing Aspen and Bennett in this story has me CRAVING their story! I NEED IT!

Lindsey Love loves ... trouble. She doesn't go out and find trouble but trouble is definitely looking for her.
Have you ever had an "I s**t you not" moment? The ones where there is little chance of it happening but yet it happens to you? This is Lindsey Love. If it can happen, it's happening to her and bless the people that are along for the ride.
This book is hilarious, cute, a bit mysterious, a bit suspenseful, and completely fun to read! It's witty humor kept me entertained and glued the whole way through.
That's not even mentioning the growing tension between Nick and Lindsey. These two had some of the best back and forth banter that I've read in a LONG time.
I found Lindsey Love relatable. Not necessarily her job but the thoughts and her reactions to the events that happen to her made me laugh because I would have the same reactions.
One of the best things I've noticed about Sophie Sinclair's stories is the way she writes her best friends characters in the story. In Coffee Girl, we had TJ and Kiki. In LLL, we have Lindsey and Patrick.
Like the way Lindsey describes dessert in this story, that's how Sophie Sinclair's stories are to me. No matter if the books I've read prior are bad, I know hers are going to be awesome. ...more

I have been waiting for this since I finished Stirred. The tension between Archer and Georgia as secondary characters had me craving for their story. As usual, Charity Ferrell did not disappoint.
After a one night stand with a man that aggravates Georgia to no end, she's left with a note to see her way out.
Then she meets him again when he's introduced as he brother's partner for the bar he's opening. Archer doesn't want anything to do with Georgia and keeps pushing her away. Even though her mind tells her he's not worth it, her heart just won't listen.
The tension, the angst, the one liners are everything you would expect in an enemies to lovers story but its the pain and anguish felt by both characters that made this story its own and gives it that push that makes it stand out and a five star, memorable read....more

Overcast is the first book in Hazel Grace's new series, B723. There are so many ways I want to describe it but intense is the best way. From the first chapter until the last page, the author gives us one hell of a story.
This story is written in a way where I didn't know what was going to happen next and it was both exciting and nerve-wracking. My stomach was in my throat through 95% of this book. The author pushes major boundaries in this story but it is part of what made this such an amazing read.
Hazel Grace wrote this book in a way that I could feel EVERY emotion pouring out of these characters. From the good to the ugly, the struggles and the pain, I felt everything right along with them.
Don't read the spoilers. The best part is not knowing what's going to happen. I want other readers to experience it the way I did and to question everything the way I did.
The secondary characters tease so much that is yet to come and I am here for every bit of it.
Overcast has characters from the Illusive Duet. While you don't have to read the duet to understand Overcast, it does have Wade Lockwood and that is reason enough to read it. However, Emric in Overcast gives Wade a run for his money....more

Throughout her other stories we've gotten small glimpses here and there of Nick and Maddie but nothing, and I mean NOTHING, prepared me for this!
My Salvation was beautifully written with lots of surprises - for both new readers and those that have been following along the whole time. The surprises just kept popping up just when I didn't think she could add any more to this story.
Nick has been working undercover and was so far in that those close to him worried that he wouldn't make it out alive and if he did, he would be a completely changed man.
Maddie has had to go on with her life and life has also changed her.
Now that Nick is out, is there anything left for them to build back on?
I love all of Jennifer Hanks's stories but I do believe this has jumped to the top as far as my favorite - and it didn't even have my favorite character in it! The way she wrote this story and handled these two was unbelievably brilliant.
While this can definitely be read as a standalone and still be appreciated for the twists and turns the author included, the readers who have read all of her stories will get a gigantic shock or two more.
There is also another storm brewing in the background of this story and I am here for it! I can't wait for Striker's story!

Each book has been a five star read for me and The Social Hour is no different. I read this all in one day!
This story has all the right ingredients that make up an awesome read! The chemistry between Cam and Andie; the one liners from TJ and Andie’s best friend, Mandy; meddling friends; and the fun that Andie, Kiki, Sarah and TJ have together ALL created this fantastic story.
Both Andie and Cam have reservations about relationships for their own reasons. Their first few interactions are not exactly smooth but they can't deny (at least to their selves) the attraction that is there. Add in a little competition and friends that can't help but interfere and soon Andie and Cam have to figure out what they have going on between themselves.
From moist balls to scary Marsha there are so many laugh out loud moments. TJ alone had me giggling so much.
Before I go on, let me say that it's not an over the top romcom. The scenarios are funny because I believe we, the readers, would react the same way if we were in their positions. Except TJ - he's just that crazy friend that needs to come with a warning label and a babysitter. (And I love his character to pieces!)
This can be read as a standalone and still be just as enjoyable but each story is so well written and are equally great that it would be a shame to miss out!...more

"There were no good men left in this world. Not saying that there weren't any good women left, I just wasn't one of them."
I don't know if I've read a book before with a heroine like Daphne. She is an admitted monster and one of the few female characters that I have a girl crush on. She's cunning, cold, calculated and yet I just want her to come out on top when this is all done.
I first met Gideon in Falcon's Prey. He intrigued me then and I couldn't wait to read more about Petal and why he is so fascinated by her.
The story is cleverly written. It starts off in the present, building on the already tense relationship between Gideon and Daphne leaving the readers craving for answers as to why they are behaving as such. Then the author sends us back in the past and gives the reader the back story between these two to lead us back to the present where we are left with an emotionally intense and suspenseful cliffhanger. My heart went from being super heavy one moment to leaving my heart in my throat at the end.
This story is not for everyone. It's dark - not dip your toe in dark but dive into the deep end dark. There are scenes where the author puts you up close and forces you to witness things will make your heart hurt. If you can't handle that, this is not for you.
HOWEVER, if you are looking for an intense, suspenseful dark romance that will push you, I HIGHLY suggest reading this!...more

One Moment Please has all the ingredients that I love in a book. From the enemies-to-lovers take and the fun banter that comes with it to the incredibly sexy, hot scenes that had me begging for more. Add in a grumpy hero with a hidden past and a heroine that is cute, fun, and slightly clumsy and I'm in heaven!
Amy Daws then took it to a whole new level. She made me cry! I don't mean I just teared up. I had to grab the tissues because the tears were falling down my cheeks.
I instantly connected with these characters. Lynsey took a page from her friend, Kate, and used the hospital cafeteria to do her work. Unknowingly, she attracts attention from the ER doctor, Josh aka Dr. Dick.
The push and pull between Lynsey and Dr. Dick - I mean Josh - was EVERYTHING! It wasn't an instant connection or an easy path for them, but the path the author gave them is what made this a five star read for me!
Even though this is book three of her Wait With Me series, it can EASILY stand on it's own two feet. Although, if you haven't read Wait With Me, I highly suggest it because Kate and Miles were fun to read and since Kate and Lynsey are best friends, the couple makes several appearances in One Moment Please.
If you want a fun, hot romantic comedy with a tender side, I highly suggest this book!...more

June has just received custody of her sister's kids. She never knew she was their designated guardian if something was to happen. She brings the kids all the way from California to Heat Springs, Georgia where she is struggling financially but determinated to make everything work.
Burke flies to Heat Springs to convince June that his niece and nephew are better off with him back in California and not in some hick town.
Sparks fly IMMEDIATELY been these two and not in a good way.
June has CONSTANTLY had to put her big girl pants on throughout her life. She nor is nothing like what Burke imagined she would be. She's sassy, determined, and genuine.
Burke is hot and cold throughout the story. Enough to make me crazy because he's holding on to a secret that neither he nor the author will share. If you like your heroes a little broken, Burke is your guy.
Ella James did a fantastic job of representing the south! (Yes we do love our sweet tea and cornbread!)
