I understand why they would say that but this fell so short of my expectations. I really thought I would have a fun time reading this which I did but only for like 5 chapters (maybe less?). I thought it was too repetitive so I was bored for almost all of it. Some of the commentary was odd and offensive at some parts.
I get that it was supposed to be satirical but I think it came off as tone deaf instead. I also didn’t find it funny at all with the over the top violence and religion, etc. I didn't laugh once so I’m disappointed for sure but maybe the title was actually a warning lol...more

There’s not much plot to this other than a woman leaving her husband and following her dreams to open a bookshop. In theory this sounds wholesome and while it had its moments, it was insanely boring. There were some lines here and there that resonated with me so because of that I thought it would possibly pick up but it never really did. It just felt like a lot of ramblings and I didn’t end up enjoying like like I thought I would....more

Forgive me not is about how the system constantly fails families and children who get caught into it. I had no idea this was supposed to be dystopian Forgive me not is about how the system constantly fails families and children who get caught into it. I had no idea this was supposed to be dystopian until later but imo it wasn’t really. This just seemed super realistic to me and not as dsytopian as I thought the trails would be. I wish for more character connections and possibly no dual POV because I don’t know if it was really needed here. I do see why it was added though but I think because of that it made the characters a bit surface level when I know this could’ve gone deeper. Overall, a good read that explored heavy but important topics.
