The brothers aren't as close and they don't seem so eager to fair and square share, each more set on staking his own claim to woo her individually.
So their backhanded wooing to claim their "prize" without bothering to bond as brothers together first in her "best" interest just didn't work for me...especially seeing how skittish she was with her messed up past.
Worth a listen, just beware it's not as good as Book 1. ...more

Man oh man, I loved my twins. Cam or Chase? I'm leaning towards Chase because he's funny, smart, fiercely loyal and he doesn't mind sharing. For instance, in bed. As for Cam? He's broody, grumpy, and bears his scars both inside and out. This is his story, by the way. Oh, and both my C-boys have mad bedroom skillz. Two for one, you really can't beat that deal.
Anyway, at times this was a tough book to get through. I really enjoyed it, but the writing was so freaking DENSE. It was like a woman packing half her closet for a weekend trip. Ms, Leigh is so good at stuffing each paragraph full of emotion, but nearly every one of them then needed to be unpacked. And I'm telling you I grew weary of it at times. A hefty edit could really help with zero worry of losing any plot or emotion, I imagine.
Another thing, flipping the POV, often between each paragraph, threw me at times. Though, I loved getting into everyone's head. Call me selfish for wanting to know what both Cam AND Chase were thinking, I can take it. As for, Jaci, I mostly liked her, though she could be wishy-washy. Yes, the girl had trouble setting boundaries. Each and every time she drew a line, Cam obliterated that sucker. It was frustrating as hell. But then I tried to put myself in her panties and I knew mine would go poof in Cam's hands.
Speaking of, disappearing undergarments, this was scorching hot. Still, sometimes, I felt like I was reading a narration of three playing a long-ass game of Twister. There were times I was flipping my Kindle around trying to figure out what body part went where. It really threw me out of the scene, unfortunately. 'B+' for effort, though.
Next, I'm backing up in Lora Leigh's Bound Hearts series to read Courtney and Ian's story, Shameless....more

Sheesh, I nearly ticked off all my romance categories so much was packed into this story. This is definitely a book I would loved a Dual POV. Not only because I'd love to crawl all up inside Taylor's psyche, but because there was something a bit off with Shyla. Darker sides to her are revealed throughout the book. I hope we learn more about her past. I get chills when I think about the possibilities. One huge issue I have was my frustration with Shyla for withholding information. Sticking her head in the sand is going to come back to haunt her.
Damn, even though I liked this more than I thought, it was like FSOG on steroids. And because of that it had many issues (see spoilers below). So, if you're looking for a smexy, gripping billionaire romance with a freaky twist then you'll enjoy this.

I'm sure there are more, but I want to carry on reading the next book.

And, it is well-known that K. Ashley kills, guts, slices you open with her Epilogues. This one did that to me, once again. That very last bit was such a gift. One, I, and I'm sure other readers, didn't realize they needed. But once read, it would be one they'd treasure. Such a beautiful way to end this, full circle....more

Pretty good. I love a good voyeur story, though using binoculars seemed a bit excessive. Lots of internal and external tension in each of the MCs. There was a ton of POV switching. And while I liked getting a peek into everyone's head, I wish these switches could have been labeled. The length was good. The balance of POV was good. I liked all of the MCs equally. Well, truthfully, I adored Colby and Keats a bit more. Maybe it's because Georgia was just acting the damned fool, lol.

Holy Hell! My neck is so stiff and I have a tension headache from clenching my jaw tight over stress from reading this. And it's a great book and I'm so glad it wasn't longer because I couldn't have handled it. I kept checking the slider and hoping it would end soon.
As you can tell from the above, captive romances are not my thing. Maybe, stories where the Hero sweeps the heroine off her feet to a getaway and wines and dines her to win her heart. But not this sort of tragic (view spoiler)['break a girl until she is a shell of herself, then build her back up to be a slave to her Master' (hide spoiler)] love story. It just leaves me a bit squeamish. Though, I KNOW there are some books that carefully brook that line in the genre like Althea Romig's Consequences or C.J. Roberts Captive in the Dark and others which continue to languish on my 'TBR someday when I'm ready' list.
Moreover, I kinda see this as a backlash against some dark romances (view spoiler)[where girls becomes slaves and fall in love with their captor (hide spoiler)]. (I must stress, this is NOT the equivalent of or to be compared to a willing submissive making a consensual choice with her Dom in a D/s relationship.) Maybe I'm wrong, but the author does refer to these books in the story when describing the genre on a character's Kindle. The 'Beauty and the Beast' trope is ubiquitous in romance books. Some, though, draw a darker curtain on the subject. Ultimately, this particular one IS a love story.
One big issue I had, and this is a HUGE FUCKING SPOILER!!! DO NOT read on unless you're okey-dokey with that.
(view spoiler)[If she already suspected bad things in regards to her lover, especially the last time she sees him, then where does her persistent love and trust come from? Why doesn't she seethe with anguish and doubt? Maybe it's her own uncrushable spirit that she fosters that in her lover's image? I believe in her strength. Its just a bit of a conundrum I ponder as I write this review. (hide spoiler)]
Another thing, speaking of SPOILERS: PLEASE avoid reading reviews as there are several twists and it WILL SPOIL the book for you, if you aren't careful. And this is one story where you DO NOT want to know anything! I promise.
The series of After Chapters transition into a satisfying closing with an additional surprise that made me smile.
This is very close to being a 5 Star Favorite. But, again this isn't my romance genre of choice. (I'd develop ulcers.) And, there are a couple of necessary edits: some awkwardly repeating words in the same sentence and a missing negative in one sentence that threw me completely.
Others than that, I highly recommend this as a dark suspense/thriller romance if that's your thing. Meaning, I'm glad I read it, the twists are crazy, BUT, I could go for a long while without reading another book like this. So, this is a strong recommendation then, right? The book is defifinitely UNFORGETTABLE!
Quick note: I end my review on the word "unforgettable" and it's very true. I can't stop thinking about this story. In that sense, that makes it a top pick for 2015....more

The main reason for my lower star rating is because this was verrrry short and rather selfishly I feel Books 5 & 6 could have been grouped together for a nonstop, action-packed and terrifying conclusion. These are just my own personal feelings, though, and the trouble I have with assigning a full rating to an incomplete story, especially the penultimate episode.
There's not much I can say about Profile that doesn't spoiler it in some way. What I can say, however, is that this was my favorite book in the series. There was so much strength and emotional content and the female characters absolutely ROCKED this round! Team Felicity and Team Grace all the way!
There have been so many surprises along the way. I've gone through moments of disliking both Vaughn and Grace. Their relationship has, at times, felt so forced. Are Vaughn's feelings for Grace heightened simply because she resists when no one else does? Does Grace resist Vaughn because of his sexual inclinations or because he's kind of...NO, because he IS a a dick, at first? What really made me fall in love with the series is how the story built up and up in layers with each subsequent episode.
While typing this out, I keep rethinking my star rating, but I remain comfortable with it for now. I reserve the right to revisit it at a later date, though....more

Frankly, this book triggers the FUCK out of me. Anyone who has been in a mentally abusive relationship at some point his/her life can see this is a metaphor for how close to the fucking edge you can be emotionally PUSHED. At least with Michael she knew what he wanted from her and she could beat him over he head with a golf club, but the insidiousness of David's intrusion into her already compromised psyche is pre-meditated soul evisceration.
Note: I read romance novels because of the rush at that first buzz of attraction, and yes the intense passion between two beautiful people--because frankly if it was a book about my neighbors I wouldn't flip a page. And yes, sometimes in the darkness there can be delicious surprises. But for some reason this book "pushed" at my boundaries, maybe because the ultimate end goal wasn't two gorgeous lovers sipping champagne and tanning on a white sand beach in the Caribbean. Hell, I didn't get far and maybe there is a Tana French twist I'm not expecting, but I think I'll wait for the second half and take a peak at a spoiler, because I just don't see how there can be an HEA for this pair, unless he climbs up on that railing beside her....more

Regarding the Audio version: At first the narrator's voice got on my nerves with a slightly whiny baby voice, but it grew on me and I'll forever associate the character of Tate with that grungy voice.
As for the story, I don't read many YA books, but I enjoyed this. It was sort of like a roller coaster ride with all the interactions between Tate and Jared. And like others, I just didn't understand why Jared felt it was a great idea to take out his pain and rage onto Tate. And that's the main reason I remain unsure and thus my lower star raring..
Another reason for not reading many YA romance books is the steamy scenes. It's just a bit uncomfortable. But for a really good book, I'll get over my aversion.

I rarely make it through book 2 of a novel-length, cliff-hanging trilogy, so finishing this is an achievement. I struggled a bit in the middle as it started to slow down a bit. Too much sex and not enough story--and I NEVER say that. But the sex scenes began to grow same-ish and dull. She gushes, he jams two, three or four fingers in her, she gasps, he groans...you get the idea:
sexy times: a moan poem gush, jam gasp, groan thrust, thrust moan, groan come, come zone, zone.
Anyway, thankfully the story picked up towards the end. Oh, and Nikki worked exactly ONE day at her second job in less than a month in LA. She doesn't actually do a whole helluva lot. I was tempted to graph it out and compare it to Damien, but I don't care enough to. Also, what is the big deal regarding the blow up at the end? I don't get it. I'm being purposely vague, much like this story is.
