I really enjoyed the Anderson brothers series, so I was pretty excited to see a new series from Marissa.
I really liked Jane and Eric. They're both genuinely nice people and it was easy to root for them to work out right from the beginning. Not to mention, their chemistry was fantastic.
I was surprised by a few things and the ending was adorable. My main complaint is that I wanted more. Overall this was a sweet and quick read with a couple of delightful cameos. I can't wait to see if there will be more.

I liked Ashley and Julien well enough. They’re both interesting characters with a lot going on in the background. Add in the extra layer of Ashley’s brother being Julien’s client and things get a little complicated for them.
Plot wise it was just okay. It felt like a lot of telling and not showing, especially when it came to their chemistry. 98% of Ashley and Julien’s inner monologue was about having sex with the other one or various body parts. They’ve supposedly known each other for years, but I didn’t see the familiarity.
Overall, I think I might have done better if I was familiar with the first book. I did like this story and these MCs, but I’m not sure if I’ll read any others in the series.

I liked Dee and Noah well enough. They’re both driven, good people. I really liked Noah’s family and the support system he had. Dee’s family had potential, but instead provided the conflict. There are a good amount of characters, but most of them are superficial.
Plot wise it was okay. A lot of this book is religious. Dee has been raised in a church, her father is a well-known leader, and that is the basis for a lot of what she does. As the story progresses, she does question and stand up for herself, yet it felt false to me. Also, it seemed like a lot of the interactions between Dee and Noah fell more towards inappropriate than chemistry.
Overall, it had a lot of potential and I think it would have worked better being a full length story.

I love love loved Erienne and Collin. I loved that they were childhood friends and the history between them. I especially loved that they pined away for each other. Lucy is straight up adorable I need to go find her book immediately.
Plot wise, it was quick and to the point. There was a touch of drama, but that’s to be expected after 14 years. The angsty times were short lived and it had a fabulous grand gesture.
Overall, it was a fun read. I can’t wait to start the next book.

I liked Jack and James. They're honest with each other and besides being neighbors, they have a childhood history. There were a few siblings and friends, but no one really stood out, except the mothers.
Plot wise, it was a bit bland. There's no real chemistry between them and the so-called tension from another man wanting Jack was non-existent. I understand the reason for James or wanting to marry, but that entire plot thread felt like an after thought.
Overall, I did like the characters and I was interesting in they're HEA, but I would have easily set this down unfinished.

I love love loved Thea, Rem, and Lucy. They’re such an amazing family and I was instantly taken in by their unwavering support and love for each other. There are a good amount of secondary characters here, but nothing overwhelming and everyone has a purpose.
Plot wise, it’s so good. I will say that it’s sort of a slow meandering, but really it’s more of a building of the set up, the stakes, and the future need for resolution. And I reveled in the time we got with all of them.
Overall, I know this is sort of a vague review, but I think this is a story that needs to unfold the way it does. For me, it was satisfying and I can’t wait to see what the next Nora book brings.

I love love loved Honoria and Oscar. They’re both looking for something of their own and are so much more alike than either of them would like to admit. They have instant chemistry, banter for days, and flirting disguised as threatening murder and/or bodily harm. Of course, Honoria’s family is one of the best and I really enjoyed reading the scenes with all of them together.
Plot wise, it was good. These two are together for the majority of the story and it’s all I wanted. There are snippets of open conversations, but it works because we are shown how they learn to lean into each other and find that safe space they want (but refuse to admit.)
Overall, this was a strong book 2 and I can’t wait to see these two in the future in the next story.

After seeing the comparison to Christina Lauren and the BFF to more plot line, I was insanely excited for this.
I liked Isla. She's happy and positive, friendly and loyal. For the most part, I enjoyed being in her head. I also really liked Taylor and definitely would have liked to see more of her. As for Colby and Landon? I'm not sure what to say about them. They both have such potential, but it didn't seem like we saw any of it.
My main complaint was all of the push and pull. Everything is so dramatic. One minute Colby is saying he's crazy about Isla and kissing her crazy. And then in the next paragraph, he's pushing her at Landon. It got old really fast.
I kept reading because I was curious, but also I was really hoping to see a spark of something that would captivate me. As much as I enjoyed the idea of this book, ultimately, it wasn't for me.

I liked Eleanor and Logan. I liked how loyal she was to her family home. I liked how much he liked her intelligence. Together they had some great conversations. Her family and fiancé were all crap and the dog was absolutely the best part.
Plot wise it was okay. There’s more inner monologue than I would have liked and loads of telling, not showing. I didn’t quite get the leap from friendship to lust to love. After all of the imprisonment, browbeating, and starvation, I wanted more of a punishment for her family. And while the HEA was great, I still wanted even more from the ending.
Overall, it was the characters that kept me reading. I am mildly intrigued to see who the previous stories were about and may go back to read them.

I really liked Veera and Deepak. They have such a strong history, filled with both good and bad, so it was interesting to read how they overcame some of the obstacles. Of course it was fun to see the other couples and the few group scenes were some of the best.
Plot wise, it was good. There really isn't a lot of tension or build up, it's a slow meandering towards the ending, but it really worked. The relationship had a good amount of push and pull and not nearly as many conversations. I'm still not entirely sure why they didn't talk for months.

I really liked Eliza and Thomas. She’s sweet and maybe a little feisty and he loves pushing her buttons. I enjoyed their history and friendship and the banter. There are a few other characters, but no one stole the scene like Eliza’s daughter did.
Plot wise, it was okay. There was a lot of drama for the sake of drama. All of this could have been fixed with a bit of conversation {instead of incessant inner monologues}, especially when there were a minimum of two people who knew about their feelings for each other. The monotony of the push and pull got a bit old and honestly, I felt bad that Eliza was ignoring everything.
Overall, it was a decent storyline with characters I could easily root for. I definitely wanted more from the ending, but I’m eager to see who is going to be in the next book.
