The romance was unique and, of course, I was shipping them from the back of the book, especially since another marriage was at stake in these games. ISomehow, it's almost the Christmas season already. Trying to ease myself into it with this Christmas rom-com (with a tasty looking recipe included!).
I loved the push-pull between these two. They were antagonistic personalities yet attracted physically from the beginning. Their careers and personalities were at odds, but once they clicked their jobs together, everything else seemed to fall into place or fall apart depending on the angle . . . Anyway, all around cute romance. Also, I really want to go to a Dickinson themed festival now.

Lots of romance and action, but also so much banter and humor, and the books are long enough to get comfortable.
Of course, the dynamic between Morgan and Caroline was so precious, with Morgan trying to figure out their bond and Caroline having no idea. That seemed like the only secret anyone could keep, since the characters were always tell the others to anyone new on the team they decided they could trust. Must be a shifter intuition thing. But no one seemed to like the newest addition to the household except me. He was hilarious and added another fun dynamic to the shifter subculture.
Anyway, I'm super excited to conclude the trilogy AND read the companion novel.

However, this book does not feature any actual witchcraft, just made-up magic with Hollywood witch aesthetics like Bewitched, so I was able to enjoy it considerably. Speaking of aesthetics, this book felt like a fun homage to the aesthetics of Halloween, Christmas, and even Thanksgiving. It was like shopping in Hobby Lobby without spending any money and strangely therapeutic somehow.
As for the characters, I loved Emma and Oliver (and his little niece). They were both so sweet and innocent, as was there romance. Except for a love potion mishap, their love story was super wholesome and adorable. The concept of a house swap is completely new to me, so that was fun to learn about, too. Also, the ending was just perfect!

It includes some of my favorite tropes of grumpy/sunshine and boss/assistant. Also, I usually like the stories about the eldest siblings most in these kinds of series, so that helps too.
These two had great chemistry from the start, and the shenanigans they get into are hilarious. I also really appreciated it that the characters made it clear that while they remained close to each other before they married, they lived in separate residences. Also, even though the eldest brother's story is done, I am intrigued to learn more about the next brother. I had a lot of fun reading this book and enjoy the series as a whole.

Tropes include fake relationship, rock star romance, and reformed bad boy.
I love fake relationships because it builds a secret bond between two people trying specifically to NOT form a bond. And these two already had an instant connection, though they are quick to stash it behind everything else. I loved the heroine being an indie author who loves dogs and plants. It was also great that she had darkness in her past and wasn't just an innocent to counter the hero's more bad boy background. I also liked that he's already on his path to being a better man when he meets her and she's an encouragor rather than a catalyst. Both of them were divorced, unfortunately, but there was no chance of reconciliation with their first spouses since his remarried and hers was a cheater.

First of all, I love turtles, and this book has TWO of them. It also had a fun combination of some fun tropes that mixed well with some of the deeper messages of the book. The hero is processing grief, the heroine is struggling with perfectionism, the family's stress planning a wedding, and the retirement community's drama with secrets being unearthed. Though, the heroine being divorced did make it harder for me to fully enjoy the romance. Still, I really loved the hero, quietly pining for the heroine despite himself. Despite their stark differences, their romance was very sweet after she barged into his life.
Note to more sensitive readers: there isn't really anything, except for some of the sensational secrets revealed in the older generations' pasts.

I really emphasized with the heroine, who feels time passing her by, and watches everyone around her moving on with their lives while she is trapped in the same place. What she doesn't realize is that Bishop is trapped there right along with her. I wish I could have seen more of her interactions with a character introduced later, but I loved the chemistry between her and Bishop.
Note to more sensitive readers: heroine had a son out of wedlock 19 years ago; also, she learns that her mother has a boyfriend in a very awkward way.

There was a greater focus on the female friendships than the romance, and more of a spotlight on the serious issues than comedy, but it was a good balance.
I enjoyed Maya as the protagonist. She struggles with anxiety, which is a battle I understand, and is trying to balance being a business woman and a daughter. She is also opening up more to friendship despite still being grieving a past tragedy that leaves her fearful of intimacy, so romance is definitely not what she's looking for. Enter Tom, her new client, an Irishman who throws around the title "love" like it's candy.
While the story was good, there were a couple things that I really didn't enjoy. One was a really weird, uncomfortable conversation Maya's friend was having with her and another friend that Maya did not want to hear and I really didn't want to read. The other was that the MCs jump into bed (closed-door) even though they aren't married, which ruins the romance for me
However, I did enjoy the exploration of grief, anxiety, and addiction, and thought those issues were handled very well. Maya especially was a good POV character for this exploration.

There was real chemistry between the main characters, that led them from being strangers to close friends quickly. The hero hoped to be more than friends, but there is a very real obstacle between them besides ignoring chemistry in the name of friendship.
I loved watching the characters navigate their families and careers as both individuals and as friends. Eli was definitely the best character. I liked Court, too, but she made a bit of a mess for herself- and poor Eli. I didn't realize it was a loose Sense & Sensibility retelling at the time, but see it now looking back. More than that, it seemed like a gender-swapped retelling, and that was really fun.

Neighbor romances are a favorite trope of mine, and these two both living and working right next to each other was super fun. I loved the chemistry between them even if the heroine most definitely did not, and I laughed out loud at several scenes. It was a great escape until the end made me rather sad. It's the ending of the book, so skip the next paragraph if you don't want anything close to a spoiler.
What saddened me was that while most romances end with the hero proposing to the heroine, this one replaced that with him asking to not be her neighbor anymore, but her roommate. I do not view cohabitation with benefits and without vows as romantic, and it honestly stressed me out that they would taint what they had.
Besides the above issue, though (all closed-door, of course), this was both fun and funny, and a great way to escape the world for a little while. Loved the goats!

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes, of course, and these two have been enemies from first sight. I enjoyed the chemistry between them that was there despite their best attempts to stop it. I really enjoyed reading about Zac especially, except for the part where he pulled her over for going five miles over, which is completely uncalled for.
Even though the characters had clear chemistry, though, I did have issues shipping it, not because of the storytelling but because the heroine is divorced. I usually avoid reading romances with divorced characters unless their spouse is the love interest, but I was already invested in this series. When the heroine gave her reasons for divorcing her husband, she mentioned a paragraph or two before that she didn't want to be like women who change their marriages like they change their jeans. Then she explained the divorce was because she and her husband "outgrew" each other . . . like one does with a pair of jeans. But vows aren't actually something you outgrow, so even though I love Zac, I still shipped Etta and her husband together and honestly felt worse for him than I think I was supposed to.
Besides that, though, it was a fun book and I loved seeing the townspeople again. I feel like I'm going to really, really love the next book.

This book reminded me of some of my favorites in that subgenre, and was just so fun. They were supposed to be strangers, but instead they were almost highschool sweethearts torn apart by his mistake.
If I thought I loved the premise, I love the execution even more! The hero is reminiscent of Mr. Darcy, being eligible (before he's married, of course) on paper, but not in possession of a whole lot of people skills. And the heroine is just trying to keep her business afloat without going off on her new husband on television. The chemistry between these two was palpable, and the banter was on point. The book was a really fun escape from reality, and I only wish it was longer.
Note to more sensitive readers: there are a few innuendos. I would recommend this book for romcom readers who love this genre anywhere as much as I do.

Of course, no matter how reluctant they are, their shared experiences- including both having worked for the same team- draw them into orbit with each other.
The characters are both dealing with issues that the other person seems to personify, which is a fun way to force them to process things. There is also the Only One Bed trope, so they really have to face each other. I loved meeting the entire Tate family as a whole, and look forward to reading about Sebastian.

The characters have real struggles, and not just their jobs being on the line if they don't get their restaurant's numbers up- or fail to comply with the no-dating coworkers policy. The heroine has had a major past trauma from a professor, and is now caring for her very ill mother. The hero has abandonment issues and struggles with both depression and anxiety. Both are have suffered past family losses and are dealing with current family drama. The restaurant business is high-stress, so they are used to juggling so many tensions- but can they avoid the different kind of tension between them?
I appreciated the very real world aspect of this story and watching the characters as they process their pasts as they prepare for their future, especially the hero's mental health struggles. I also always love a good forbidden coworker romance, and this certainly delivered there!

These two definitely have that dynamic down, having grown up together and now being inseparable. The entire town ships them, but they both insist that they are just friends. And they are great friends who both have some growing up to do if they are ever going to face the fact that they can be more than that.
The small town shenanigans was fun, as the younger population gets entangled and the older generation match-makes. It all seemed so normal and day-to-day, which is where true love best grows. This story also made me curious about the other sisters' stories.

I met these two in the last book, and was excited to read their story. Friends to lovers is always fun. Both knew they liked the other, and, to be honest, so did everyone else in town. Their chemistry was undeniable. But the heroine still tried, even when the hero was doing his best to point out the elephant in the room.
Concerning that, I could really relate to the heroine, dealing with anxiety as she was. However, I did not understand how her inferiority complex could latch onto her father's debt and use it as a reason to make herself feel unworthy of the hero's love. I mean, even her father was dating, so why couldn't she? I understand being too stressed out and needing to focus on just one thing, but that's entirely different from trying to push the man you love off on someone else because of family drama.
As for the hero, I loved him and is sense of humor. He had a really fun alter ego, and I always love alter egos. All around, it was fun watching these two develop their respective relationships with their family, friends, and own futures as well as their own relationship with each other.
Note to more sensitive readers: I can't think of anything objectionable.
