They were polar opposites, yet they just fit so perfectly together. I highly enjoyed reading their story and I am very eager to jump into the next book in the series.

I want to take a moment to discuss the tragedy that is that cover. I shudder every time I look at it. I am SOOO thankful that I never picture the people on the cover as the characters. I honestly have no clue how this book ended up with a cover like that. It is just such a big turn off!

My biggest complaint for this book would have to be the flashback scenes. Sometimes I felt like they were unnecessary and threw the pacing off a little bit. It made the story feel dragged out.

I loved the romance between Vrex and Marian and I felt like the progression of their relationship was exactly as it should have been. I would like to know more about this mate bond though... Is it like soul mates or can you form a mate bond with anyone you love? It’s not quite made clear.
The plot twist at the end was expected, but welcome. I’m always down for that particular twist and I’m really excited to see how it plays out in the next book!...more

What I Didn’t Like- Just like with the last book, I felt like the romance was a little rushed. I wanted more development from Morgan and Zaden’s relationship. It felt like they went from barely knowing each other to having sex, being mates, and loving each other way too quickly.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely be continuing the series. I’m SO looking forward to Kade and Eleanor’s story! Plus, this book got me really curious about the spin-off so I might start that one as well....more

I enjoyed the love story between Leah and Varek. They were really cute together and I liked the progression of their story. It was a little bit faster paced than I would’ve liked though. If there would’ve been just a teeny bit more development there I think this would have been better.

Koldo and Nicola’s story was absolutely MAJOR SPOILERS THROUGHOUT: I really liked this book and felt like it was a solid continuation in the series. Koldo and Nicola’s story was absolutely beautiful and I loved their progression as individuals and together.
I also liked the theme/moral backdrop of the book with anxiety, rage, and worry. How letting those into your heart is only a poison and will continue to fester. How it’s better to focus on the positives and more will follow if you do. I loved that!
What I Didn’t Like- I had some minor problems with pacing. I had to push myself to keep reading at certain points. I’ve also noticed that Gena repeats and then retreats, if that makes sense. Koldo had no wings, he got them back, they were taken away from him, and then he got them back. It felt redundant and drawn out to me....more

This universe has always intrigued me and I loved coming back to it. I’ve only seen the perspectives of the Lords before so it was really interesting to see things from the angels’ perspectives.
Annabelle- I liked Anna. She was sweet, smart, loving, and determined. So much had happened to her throughout her life and all I wanted was for her to succeed and be happy.
Zacharel- I loved Zacharel and the progression of his character. Seeing him go from this cold and closed off individual to this person who feels and cares was invigorating.
Lords of the Underworld Cameo- I’m not joking when I say I literally bursted into tears when Paris showed up. I never realized how much I loved these characters and missed them until this book!
What I Didn’t Like- The pacing was a little slow and off at certain points.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading the next installment. Bring on Koldo’s story!...more

It was everything I wanted it to be and more. Everything that was missing from the last book was improved upon in this one and I just got so much more than I thought I would. I was hooked from the very first chapter and I could not put this book down for the life of me. The story, the characters, and their tumultuous lives has just ensnared me and I did not want this book to end! After the ending, I am DYING to get my hands on the next book! Bring on the drama and the romance!
Talia- Talia is honestly my favorite part of the trilogy. She is just so relatable and I love her character! Her actions are always easy to understand and her thought process is matches mine in almost every situation.
The Guys- I really like the guys. Each of them is different and lovable in their own ways. I loved how much they’ve changed and grown in this installment and their obvious love for Talia has my whole heart. It was a solid sequel and continued the series very well. The world was expanded even more and the plot got more complex. I loved the addition of Drrak and I like what he brings to the harem. I’m also really loving the progression of Lily’s relationships with her mates.
What I Didn't Like- At times, the pacing was slower than I would have wanted and I had to push myself to keep reading. I’m also not that enthusiastic about this kidnapping plot line. I don’t really have any interest in the matriarchal society that these people have or their people. Honestly, I would be perfectly fine with Lily and her mates just living off by themselves....more

Maybe it was because there weren’t as many plot twists or the romance had been flushed out, but this book just didn’t do it for me. I skim read the majority of the book because I just wasn’t enjoying it. It was a conclusion to the story, but I felt like it could’ve been much shorter than it was and it felt a little unnecessary. Honestly, the author could’ve just tacked parts of this book onto the end of the last one and I think it would’ve been fine.
I complained about this a little bit in my last review, but I also have a problem with the twins. Their personalities are so interchangeable and there really isn’t any key differences between them. I was hoping that this book would develop them more and maybe I would start to see some differentiating factors between them, but that just didn’t happen. They stayed flat the entire book and I don’t have as much of a connection with them as I do with Lincoln and River.
Overall, I would say this was a solid conclusion, but that’s all it really was. It just wrapped things up and made me happy that this series was over. I’m ready to move on....more

Everything I loved about the first book: the romance, the intrigue, the murder and mystery, and the heat were all pushed to another level in this book! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and the cliffhanger at the end left me reeling! I am DYING to start the next book and see how this story will end!
What I Didn’t Like- The only problem I had with this book was the development of Dax and Chase. I don’t know if the author is just holding off until the last book, but I feel like the twins have been really underdeveloped. They come across as flat and I couldn’t really tell a difference between the two in personality, as of right now....more
4.5 Stars I loved this series and these characters. They had a real and hard grip on my heart and they didn’t want to let go. This book was bitterswe 4.5 Stars I loved this series and these characters. They had a real and hard grip on my heart and they didn’t want to let go. This book was bittersweet for me because of that. I was ready for the story to be over and for Marnye and her guys to get their happy ending, but I also wanted more books at the same time. I was ultimately very happy with how things ended though. I have heard that C.M. Stunich is considering a spin-off so there’s that.
What I Didn’t Like- There was continual reference to politics in this book, and throughout the series, which I hate. This is a problem that seems to be reoccurring in C.M. Stunich’s books. I’ve had to DNF books of hers before because she wouldn’t stop doing it. It seemed like every other page was talking about the patriarchy or feminist comments were being made. There is nothing wrong with those comments in themselves, but that is not why I read this book. I picked this series up to read about a reverse harem bully romance. Not about feminism or the patriarchy.
I am a firm believer in using your platform as an author or blogger or whatever for what it was meant to be used for. For example, as a book blogger, I do not share my political views because I do not believe that that is what my platform should be used for. I will not use it to try to influence others into siding with me. I review books and you read my reviews to hear my opinions on books, not for my political opinions.
I also think my opinion would have been different if C.M. had only mentioned these things once or twice. But, and I kid you not, over the course of this series, there had to have been at least 50 comments made. This is extreme and I felt like I was getting hit over the head with C.M.’s political views constantly. It took away a lot of my enjoyment.
Overall, I love C.M. as an author and her books grab me like no one else, but I honestly don’t know how much more of the political stuff I can take. I will continue to read her books for now because I love them so much, but somethings gotta give eventually.
I would love to hear your opinions on this. Should authors include their political opinions in their books? Do you agree that me being a little put off by C.M.’s constant remarks is justified? Do you ever stop reading a book or author because of them including their political opinions?...more
