While I appreciate what Harry did in finishing this project for his mother, I could tell he didn't quite possess his mother's skill.
TI'm disappointed.
While I appreciate what Harry did in finishing this project for his mother, I could tell he didn't quite possess his mother's skill.
This book felt very shallow and it felt like all the characters diverted back to teenagers; after each had such amazing character growth in their own books this was my biggest disappointment. Pa Salt's story just didn't touch me the way the sister's stories had. He didn't feel real to me - the way the sisters did - it was more like a bunch of random events and people were forced together to make the story fit.
I'm thankful for the conclusion given to us, I just expect something with more soul to it....more

I really didn't expect to be this invested in Electra and her exotic tale, I thought to myself what exactly can a famous model bring to this story that weren't covered in other sisters'stories. Boy was I wrong.
This one touched on so many things that are wrong with the world and does a beautiful job of portraying and bringing awareness to them. I'm in awe of Riley's exceptional view and the way she tells these stories.
I can't wait to get home and start The Missing Sister....more

This is the perfect little story. It gives you a quick background of how Valentines group came to rise. How Magnus and Tessa came to help Jocelyn and Clary. And most importantly how Magnus and Tessa spend time as friends. Honestly, I think any story with Tessa and Magnus will earn my 5 stars....more

I was a bit skeptical about CeCe. Out of all the sisters she's the one I didn't like, nor cared for. But in the end she's redeemed in my eyes. My heart went out to her and in the end she grew and changed so much, I couldn't help but love her. That combined with Kitty's totally submersible story (I absolutely loved her from the get go) this was another excellent edition to the Seven Sisters.
I'm excited to see where Tiggy will take us. And I'm really, really looking forward to Pa Salts story ...more

This was just WOW! Ally's story is gut-wrenchingly beautiful. It ripped-out my heart, stomped on it, then tenderly put it back together. This one drained me. It is only the second book in the series and I'm already seeing the greatness that awaits me.
I really enjoyed seeing how the classic music scene changed and evolve from Anna’s days to Ally’s. Lucinda truly has a gift in creating the most believable characters and circumstances.
I still have many questions... But also, I still have many books to go.
Trying my best to avoid spoilers now that Atlas is out....more

Ever since the start of this series, I've been anticipating Star's story. Her silent character fascinated me, and I wanted the learn more about her and her back story as soon as possible. I was not disappointed. Out of the three books I've read so far; this is definitely my favourite! And my first five star. (the others came close with four and a half star each)
Not only did I fall in love with Star, but even more so with Flora. Both their stories resonated close to my heart. The “unseen” lonely girls that in the end also find their happy ever after, or as close to it as life permits.
I obviously had to go buy the next 2 books and is saving up for the rest. I'm really curious about CeCe, as I am currently not sure I like her very much.
And the mystery of why the girls keeps thinking they see or hear Pa Salt is fascinating me more and more. ...more

Hypothesis: Getting older might mean I'm starting to like the rom-com in book form? WHAT?
No seriously, the predictability of rom-com’s usually work on all my nerves. All the cringe-worthy clichés drive me crazy. So, what is happening? I’m not sure, but I was surprised with how much I liked this despite of all the cringe-worthy clichés and predictability of the whole thing.
Overall this one was cute, fun and a fast read/listen....more

I’m the type of person who likes to figure out who did it, why they did it and who else was part of it. So giving me an unreliable narrator is like giving me a puzzle that’s already built, but you can’t exactly see what it’s supposed to be. What’s the fun in that?
But even with my dislike of unreliable narrators, this book surprised me. It kept me engage and my irritation level didn’t reach it’s normal high with not knowing who to trust. Reyes has a lovely writing style and Mariso Ramirez brought these pages to live in my mind. And if I haven’t seen Hypnotic just a few weeks ago, I would never have guessed as to what was going on.
I’ll defiantly keep a look out for more of Reyes’ work. ...more

This felt like catching up with old friends. I love the dynamic Slaughter created between Will, Sara, Faith and of course Amanda. It’s like they come alive, but I think I say that in every review I write of this series.
Even with this very dark, disturbing, and sad topic I couldn't put down the book! Slaughter knows how to capture her audience. The tension throughout the book is palpable, the plot is riveting with shocking reveals at every unexpected point. The only part I missed was the medical side, in other words Sara’s work. I like to know what the body can tell; I like the forensics. And I feel it was missing in this book. This was more a stake-out, crazy sting board kind of book. Still brilliant, but it didn’t satisfy my forensic addiction. To be fair, Slaughter and McDermid created it, so I expect them to deliver.
I can hardly wait to meet my friends again in the new one. I know it might be a long wait.
Maybe I should consider re-reading the entire series form the start, while I wait. ...more

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. I’m usually content with most classics, finding them good, but I very rarely connect to them the way I connected with Jane. It contained just the correct amount of romance, suspense, and mystery to really grab and hold me. On discovering that my addition was an abridge version of the story, I quickly got myself this Audio book to catch up on what I’ve missed. While the shortened version is very good, I’m ever so happy I got the full experience of Miss Eyre. ...more
