I found Stefan’s softer side came out way more than in the first book. This helped me like him more seeing that he wasn’t all bad. Do keep in mind he is an antihero... When he wants to be a jerk, he does it very well! I still wonder how Gabriela put up with him!!!
Secrets come out and betrayals are revealed too. For the most part I was able to guess who betrayed Stefan, but I was still interested in all that was going on!
Another enjoyable read from Natasha Knight! I have read quite a few of her books already, but can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next! She is definitely an author to check out if you like a little darkness in your stories!

Wow! What a book!!! This has been the first book since the pandemic has caused chaos in our world that has captivated my attention! For that alone, this story deserves recognition!!! I was literally on the edge of my seat for a large part of Sunday while I read this!
K. Webster and Nikki Ash have partnered up to deliver a dark, violent, suspenseful and sexy tale. My biggest warning regarding the dark theme is.... don’t take it lightly! There are some pretty gruesome scenes, which even shocked me... and believe me it isn’t easy to shock me!!
I loved the conclusion of Talia and Kostas marriage... The whole story comes together brilliantly ! I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say that I highly recommend this dark and gritty duet!...more

Webster and Nikki Ash! I must say that these two authors pairing up to write was a brilliant decision! I am really enjoying this duet and after the cliffy I just read, I am dying to dig right into the conclusion immediately!!!
One thing I need to mention about this book is that it’s dark. There are some awful things that happen through out this story and I just feel the need to make readers aware of that! If you’re looking for a flowery romance ; you most certainly will not find it here! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!...more
I am a huge fan of T.M. Frazier..but I have got to be honest with my feelings regarding this book. I was very surprised with all of the editing issuesI am a huge fan of T.M. Frazier..but I have got to be honest with my feelings regarding this book. I was very surprised with all of the editing issues in this story. There were so many, and it wasn't just spelling errors. An example was when Pike put a gun in his pocket, and in the next sentence it was propped against the door. Another was they were about to "get it on" near the water, then it's mentioned they were on the counter...then all of a sudden they were back on the sand. It became very distracting, and these examples are just a few.. In good conscience, I can't just ignore those kind of mistakes as I do expect more from this author.
I will say on a positive note that there were definitely some huge reveals, and twists that had me dumbfounded. A lot of times when I read a book, I can guess what is coming; but in this one I was definitely thrown for a loop. Sadly though, I did have a hard time connecting with Pike and Mickey's relationship. A big part of that was that I found they didn't get a lot of page time together. The few times they did, they were just having sex. I just didn't get to experience any deep emotion from them.
I am going to chalk this final book in the duet a loss for me. I am very sad about this; but I have to be honest. I do thank my buddy Steph for reading this with me..and it was nice to have someone who was seeing the same mistakes as I was. I felt validated in my feelings and I thank you very much for that Steph!!! Time for me to move on!...more

As you know, I have been having troubles getting into my reads lately due to this pandemic. This story though, kept me on my toes!
It’s a darker theme and full of suspense and mystery. The setting mainly takes place in a cult where the heroine is kidnapped and taken by one of the “patriarchs” of the cult. He wants her really bad and will go to any lengths to make her his! The thing is.. there is way more going on and we end up getting reveals as the story progresses!
This is a part of a duet. I always wait to read duets or trilogies until all the books are out as I don’t like cliffhangers!!! I am happy to report that the second and final book is already out!! So, yes the first book ends with a cliffy but no worries because you can move to the conclusion right away!!...more

Considering I have been having a rough time being able to focus my full attention on books right now... I felt this story did a great job at holding my attention! The only complaint I have is that the last 30% of the book took a doozy of a turn, and at times I felt it became far fetched! I docked a star for that... but even so it took me away from reality for a bit! For that reason alone I’m not going to complain too much! ...more
First of all I want to say that normally I do not care for the whole “Daddy, spank me” scenario; but I thought I would give this a try because I like First of all I want to say that normally I do not care for the whole “Daddy, spank me” scenario; but I thought I would give this a try because I like the author! I am super glad I did give this a go!!! I found that the “Daddy” theme in this particular story wasn’t how it has been done in other books. In fact, even though Misha becomes Ciara’s sugar daddy, it isn’t said during sex or anything like that. I realize I am not being too clear on it but I don’t want to spoil the storyline.
Secondly, this was labelled as a dark read, and while it definitely has dark undertones to it, I have read way darker! Misha turns out to be such a sweetheart under his hard core. I loved him and Ciara together and their relationship may have developed quickly but there was depth to it for sure!
Lastly, the sex is super explosive and I gobbled it up!! With that being said, there still was an interesting storyline that kept me in suspense! By the 70% mark I was biting my nails in anticipation of what was going on!
I am so glad that I take risks with certain books, and this is one of them! I can’t wait to read the next instalment as it is about Misha’s brother who is an anti-hero that I am not sure if I’ll like! Brianna Hale is one of those authors who can definitely pull it off.. that is to make an anti-hero somehow human! It’s going to be a bumpy ride Iam sure of it!!! I can’t wait to dive right in!!!...more

It was a lot darker than the first, but I expected that considering this was about anti-hero; Damir! He may be the younger brother but that doesn’t mean he’s the sweetest. Oh no, Damir is quite psychotic... in fact, in this instalment he’s trying to find his brother to kill him. What he doesn’t count on is falling in love!
Bethany was Damir’s brother’s secretary, but after an encounter between Bethany and Damir, they realize they share the same lust for blood! These two have some kinks that might turn others off, but for them it fuels their passion for one another. Of course Bethany doesn’t make things easy for Damir... he ends up kidnapping her and taking her with him while he is on the run! Their escapades end up very entertaining, and Damir’s way of wooing a woman is very unconventional! I love it when an author can make me root for a bad guy.. and in this case towards the end I do!
This book is not for everyone... if you are a reader that doesn’t mind darker themes, or an anti-hero than I highly suggest giving this duet a go! The “Daddy” theme wasn’t really present in Damir’s book.. I just thought I would mention that! ...more

First I will start off saying that I think this book should be read after reading “The Tutor,” which is the story of Nora’s experience being held captive by Holden. In my opinion this book shouldn’t be read as a stand alone... mainly because you wouldn’t get the history of Nora and other characters. I have to say I was somewhat disappointed in this story... mainly because I felt it didn’t go as deep into Liam as I would have liked. It would have been better to have some flashbacks so that we could have felt more empathy for the abuse he endured in the hands of his brother. A large portion of this book was him stalking Nora, and that became boring. I just expected more for this story!
I did enjoy parts of this, although it wasn’t near as dark as the first book.. I guess in a way this ends up being Nora’s HEA; which she absolutely deserved!
All in all, it was a good read, but it didn’t wow me or keep me on the edge of my seat. I am happy to hear there are books about the girls that share history with Nora! I will still carry on with reading those as I am still connected with all of the characters!!!...more

I felt like not much of anything really happened through out the majority of the book. I also didn’t get a dark vibe with the hero. At times he was an alpha-hole but I have definitely seen worse!!! I do know that this was the author’s first dive into darkness so maybe for someone like me who has read very dark books.. I have higher expectations for the darker themes? I don’t know?! I just felt this all felt a little flat to me.
Of course the story ended on a cliffhanger... although it literally stopped abruptly; which I didn’t care for... but, I am intrigued enough that I may down the road read the next half of the duet. I am not in a rush though... so we will see!...more

I always look forward to reading one of Meghan March’s books! This particular one is a duet that features the son of a mafia boss, and an undercover investigator who is trying to find out if the mob boss is responsible for her Father’s murder. What Drew didn’t anticipate was falling in love with Cannon ( the son). What will happen to Drew when she is discovered?
I did enjoy this one but I found it was a very slow start. The second half of the book began to pick up, which makes me hopeful for a lot more action in the second book of the duet! One thing I didn’t care for in this story was Drew’s disguise. She mainly wore a wig, coloured contact lenses and used a fake name. It really bothered me throughout the story... and it made it hard for me to become emotionally attached to her and Cannon’s relationship. Until she is fully being honest, I just can’t seem to fully invest in her as a person!!! ...more

I don't know why it has taken me so long to get back to Meghan March's work...I fell in love with it awhile ago, and took a break; then never came back until this one...I will be changing that immediately!
I fell in love with Country singer, Boone; who is our hero in this story. He may be rough around the edges, but he has a heart of gold...oh, and he is one HOT dude!! LOL He ends up trying to come to Ripley's rescue, and help her out with her bar...it ends up more chaos than help, and he has the strong need to fix what he has broken..
These two have chemistry that is off the charts! I love them together and can't wait to see what is next for them in book #2! I am so glad that I picked up this "duet" and am already into the next installment! I just couldn't wait! If you are a romance reader, and haven't yet tried this author's work, then I highly recommend giving her a try. I swear you won't be disappointed!...more
