The story is getting intense and I'm loving the progress. Unfortunately I don't own the next book, but maybe I 5 stars and the plot thickens even more!

We now get to see Bob's story, how he started living on his own since he was a pup, how he met Ivan the gorilla and how his life and issues are going on now.
A disaster strucks and a tornado is way more dangerous than predicted. Bob overvomes himself and he becomes a hero.
Then his past comes back and a second chance appears on the horizon.
I loved the ending but it was so abrupt with a twist that I need to know what happens in the next book!...more

Charlie, Dizzy and Johnny get lost in the woods. Then weird things start happening. Time shifts and they must get out of the forest as quickly as possible...but not before learning a few lessons.
I loved the discussion about time and the "Cronos" easter egg. The author put a lot of research into this. It was eerie and unsettling at times, but so amazing and smart!
I really wish more people would try this author out. I know for sure I want to read more books written by him. :)...more

The murders at Fleat House is a thriller that kept me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end! We follow a murder that happened to a boy and we get through some tangled nets, leading to a following suicide and another murder.
This time I didn't try guessing the killer, I just wanted to enjoy the story as it progressed. Jazmine Hunter is one of the best detectives and we follow both her progress with the crimes and also her personal life.
I admired her and her parents a lot! Tom, her father, was one of my favourite side characters in this book. Such a humorous man.
In the end, everything was explained, the pace was right where it should have been and the epilogue was the most satisfying.
This was a nice short journey of self-discovery. The premise in my head is that, in the end, your road is still yours to take. It's3.5 stars rounded up.
This was a nice short journey of self-discovery. The premise in my head is that, in the end, your road is still yours to take. It's easier with someone close, but it's your journey, not theirs.
The discussions between the characters were interesting to think about.
Looking forward to the next one in this series. :)...more
Awww, that ending! Also, those gods (the deer and that pregnant? lady) crept me out a bit. I liked that doctor and her husband, and all the i4.5 stars.
Awww, that ending! Also, those gods (the deer and that pregnant? lady) crept me out a bit. I liked that doctor and her husband, and all the info about the Yule night and all those trees and their "benefits".
And I'm happy we got to know more about Silky.
Such a cool volume! Now I need the next one but I don't have it. *crying*...more
Volume 2 in the Ancient Magus' Bride series by Kore Yamazaki was even more exciting than the first book, but stilll the dialogue was a bit con4 stars.
Volume 2 in the Ancient Magus' Bride series by Kore Yamazaki was even more exciting than the first book, but stilll the dialogue was a bit confusing, hence the fact that I took down half a star.
This one starts right where the first one ended and we found out more about our protagonist and Elias. I started liking Elias more and I can't wait to find out more secrets in the next volumes.
The intensity of this one grew with each page and the ending was pretty epic! And I laughed so hard when meeting Oberon! Such a stupid but funny character. :D
I decided I'll also watch the anime so I can understand things clearly, even though I'm not a fan....more

Phew, this story! Edge is, undoubtelly, one of the best skilled authors out there.
It's Maisie Day's birthday and she turns 10. Her biggest sister, Lily is 15 years old and hates her younger sibling. However, Maisie is sure this is going to be the best day ever! Until she wakes up and soon realizes that no one is home. And when she's opening the door, all she can see is darkness.
Next chapter shows us her day starting normal, her parents getting ready for her birthday and preparing food, the gazebo outside and interacting as they usually do. So what is actually happening?
Each chapter is alternating between these two realities until we discover the shocking truth. The action takes places mostly at their home, and we are told about some of Maisie's life before this day, how she is academically gifted and knows so much about science.
The end is happy, but bittersweet. I didn't expect that reveal and once again the author amazes me.
I like that in each book (at least this and The Longest Night of Charlie Noon that I read so far from him) Christopher is teaching us about life stuff, like time and space and science and the universe through the eyes of a child.
So although I liked this one pretty much, it wasn't as amazing as Charlie Noon, in my opinion. But it was a great book whatsoever and I'm looking forward his other books....more
Emelina is a Ruined, but she doesn't have any powers as the other ruined have. Her sister has been kidnapped by the Lera royal family and her parents killed.
So her plan is to kill Mary, the one betrothed to prince Cas and take her place, so she could destroy their kingdom from within.
What I liked is that the main character, Em, is very strong, very powerful and driven. But she also has a soft interior. We also see the perspective of Cas, and honestly I liked him and their relationship. I don't understand why people say this is an enemies-to-lovers trope as they didn't hate each other so much or so powerful. They were just being awkward. And that is normal given the fact that they mary.
I really liked them as a couple and the fact they started to fall for each other. And Cas' curiosity about the ruined and how he stood up for them in the face of the King. Well, now, that's courage!
About 60% of the book takes place in the castle and I felt some "The Kiss of Deception" vibes, which I enjoyed. Then all hell broke loose and the action became a little boring, to be honest. And the end... well, it was pretty great. I already love Olivia, Em's sister. But now that it ended like this it means that 2 powerful sisters will have to decide on one thing and I'm sure they won't.
I also liked Damian and the guard who was Cas' friend. And I disliked the royal family so much!
Anyway, the book was enjoyable and I sense there was some potential in it. Looking forward to book 2.

⚔ The second 5 ✨ book this year! So normally I really enjoyed the first book, the only problem that I had with it, that are actually 3 problems, were:
⚔ The fact that Hades and Persephone only share a few awkward moments between them, so there isn't that much steam from their friendship; ⚔ There are a lot of stories shared from other's lives, and some were nice and some were meh; ⚔ And the Rape Trigger Warning ⚠ which made me hate that guy truly and the ending was really sad!
But this sequel?! I had no idea I will love it so much! We finally get to enjoy Hades and Persephone and their time together. There were also pretty often dramatic and badass moments that I truly enjoyed, because it was good drama! ...more
